Im thinking of painting my stock steel rims. Would like to see some pictures from anyone who has done this. Uncided if I should go gloss black or flat black. But would like to see any painted stock steel wheels for ideas. Thanks

    search is your friend :)

type in "painted stock wheels" or something along those lines. There are quite a few threads about this topic.

There are a few guys with powdercoated black OEM Steel wheels. :D

    They look great! Good luck!!

    Kind Regards,
    Ryan

Rustoleum hammered finish black...just did this a couple of weeks ago. Take your time. I spent two days painting all four wheels, front and back. Use index cards around the rim to shield the tire. Make sure they are really clean and rough the surface up with some fine sandpaper or steel wool. I got this idea off the TW. I think it was buried in a thread. You can find it if you search but this pretty much covers the basics.

One more thing...I would suggest pulling off your balancing weights and getting the wheels re-balanced afterwards with tape weights on the inside of the wheel, for a cleaner look.

I used satin black. I kept the steelies from my 04 Tacoma when I sold it, painted them black and mounted snow tires on them for my 07. Used Krylon Fusion for the center caps (also satin finish):
