Yeah I was watching some YouTube videos and the needle method was the only thing would work. I'll try see if the sun will fix it; if not, then I'll use the needle option. There's approximately 4 small bubbles. Other than that everything is smooth. Lol

Lol you lucky Bugga. Yeah, I'll see if the sun will do magic.

    Great job bulla!

^^^^Looks nice. needs more mods. ;)

as for the bubbles in new stickers, do it asap. the longer you wait, the more chance the adhesive dries out and won't stick.

the times I do care, I use soap and water..spray it on the surface, put down sticker, step back, adjust if need be, then squeegee it out.

LOL! Thanks Rick, and everybody else :D
Its not a big deal tho

I feel really bad for Rick. 4 wheel parts messed up what should have been a pretty easy install. This is how I found one of the bolts holding the rear skid plate on. (Off Roads have 2 skids) It is obviously not the OEM bolt, and wasn't tightened all the way down because it was cross threaded. They probably lost the original bolt and replaced it with a cheap city mill bolt.
    IMG_1080 (768x1024).jpg
This is one of the front braces (the ones you have to remove everytime you want to remove/install your swaybar) that the front skid plate attaches to. This bolt was also crossed and the head pretty much fell off when I tried to wrench on it. I will set it up on my mill and drill the broken bolt out, then re-tap the hole. You can see in the pic that the threads are fuct...
    IMG_1084 (1024x768).jpg
All this happened mostly because they installed the front diff drop (and they probably just put the bolts in the impact gun and drive them right in without starting them by hand first!). The skids don't fit right with it installed. This is the front diff on Ricks truck. You can tell by where the drop blocks are, they mostly rotate the diff and probably only drops the diff by 1/4" at best.
    IMG_1082 (1024x768).jpg
They also used some cheap 1/2"-13 bolts to install the diff drop. Slightly smaller diameter than the stock 14mm bolts.
They also never gave him back his original bolts that came out, so now he has to buy new nuts and bolts to mount the diff because we are getting rid of the diff drop, and new bolts to replace the broken and lost bolts. Plus I usually make $35/hour :D

If you really feel that a diff drop helps and you need it on your truck, this is a good walkthrough on how to properly install the diff drop and modify your skid plates to work with it.
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/53991-diy-how-install-toytec-diff-drop-pics.html
Somebody should forward this to 4WP!

Anyway, I have heard a lot of horror stories surrounding 4WP from friends at work, here on TW, and now seeing it for myself on a friends truck. I may buy parts and accessories from them one day, but I will never have any work done to my truck there. If you have had work done there, or plan to have work done there, please double check their work.

And if the bottom of Ricks truck looks really clean, its because it has less than 3,000 miles and has never been off road :p

Nah, we drill and re tap like this all the time. I had 4 seized plugs on the stern tubes with the heads stripped out, underneath the ship this past weekend. Drilled out all 4 1"NPT plugs with a 1-5/32" drill and retapped them all by hand. This will be cake. Just gotta get a good setup ;)

instead of putting the bracket on the machine, i'd try using a carbide burr ball grinder and drilling it by hand..might save some time :p

Yeah, that build thread is something to be proud of pineapple :D

Nah, left hand center drill usually gets them out. And if I try to drill it from the back, a regular drill will push it back out. They usually break loose once it heats up. With the mechanics we have at Pearl, we deal with seized and broken bolts all the time. I've even had to drill out a few broken 3/4" HSS taps! Damn mechanics! :D

It's like they just hire anyone to turn wrenches there!! I've heard bad horror stories about that place too and when you try to get an explanation from the manager than you realize why they have horrible customer service. To put it nicely.
