1 inch thick horse stall mat. They are 4x6 ft. Cut wheel wells out a bit on each side. I have had mine for 18 yrs. Gives traction, pulls out to clean under easily. Most feed store, tractor supply,co-ops carry similar. Cost about 75.00!

Herculiner DIY kit. It's a cheaper alternative to the professional spray-on liners.

I did my 96 Tacoma bed with it and 2 Jeep Wrangler interior floorboards with it.
Oh, and a set of rocksliders.

It's a messy project (wear disposable clothing) but I think its worth it.

It's much thinner, can scratch off, but can easily be re-applied without prep work. If exposed to the weather, it does get thinner over the years.
I had mine on for 5 years and had to re-apply the areas that were outside of my tonneau cover

Do this. My truck had a rhino liner in it when I bought it, but I wish it didn't. I would rather use a thick, removable bed mat like above. It allows you to take care of you bed easier.

Had horse mat entire life. Now it's in my 96. I use my bed bigtime. Carpenter by trade, wood most winter months. It works for me.

Any issues with them blowing out or flapping on the highway? I hate the slick, plastic drop-in but I may need to put a DIY or professional bedliner if its rusty underneath or on the sides.

I have a rust spot in my bed and I plan on patching it. Would it be good to spray some kind of bed liner on it and get a rubber mat. To put down also

The mat is literally 1 inch thick. Never flops. My bed never rusted under mat. Only up high on insides from scratches of my own doing. I am not that guy that constantly cleans either. It is awkward to take out but I got that too. Bend mat back from front, spray crap out with hose towards back. Then bend toward cab and finish to tail.

I personally would sand to good metal, use good primer, paint to match with many thin coats. You can always re-inspect when you pull mat out. Bed liner coatings don't let water drain as smoothly as slick metal will. Kinda stays original.

Ahh different deal then. All you see in the bed is dirt. It's behind my shop on ground. Hey justin, what part of va. Are you? I am Culpeper area. Just looked at my pic. Those are pine needles.

Repair the rusted-thru parts. A spray-in or DIY roll on bedliner on it to help prevent further rust over the entire bed.

A bed mat (without spray-in or roll on liner) may not be a good idea as it can trap moisture underneath it and create more rust.

The very first sintered rubber matts had big voids between the rubber pieces, water would go right thru them. The newer ones are smaller pieces and pressed tighter and water will stand on those. Still about +-1" thick since the very early 80"s and were made available to the public about then. Still recycled tires.

A oerson outside the box, could buy separate sheets,,get snazzy with the hot knife and 3M gorilla snot,,you know where this goes.

Wish i would have kept that original matt I bought then.

So long as you yank the matt out once in awhile, soap up flush out the channels and forward drain holes of the bed so it can breathe,,it will outlast the truck. Turtle wax heavy wax wash and shine given to me at a jobber show;)

I wish I had a bedliner. Was thinking about Herculiner, but having to reapply in 5 years doesn't seem worth it to me.

Took my drop-in out today and sure enough, had rust and a 1" hole in the corner. Time to weld in a patch.
