My stock leafs are desperately frowning... Im lifting the front 2.5 inches this weekend with some 5100s so i need to get the back end up a bit too. Currently i have a 1in lift block back there but it still sits below stock height. Originally i wanted to just get a some new lift springs, but at $400+ a set Im thinking I might try refurbishing the ones i have and adding a 2" AAL.

Question is, will a 2" AAL add 2 actual inches to saggy springs? or is it more likely to just give me my stock arch back? Would a stiffer shorter length 2" AAL give me better results? Do they make a 3" AAL? What about doubling up the Add a Leafs and maybe losing the smallest of the old saggy ones?

Any other ideas are welcome, thanks!

Currently saving for wedding, honeymoon, and to buy a house so dropping big moneys on the truck would be irresponsible :/

3" lift EIBACH coils w/ 5100's front, OME/ Dakar leaf springs w/ toytec adjustable shackles at 1.5" and 5125's out back. 33x10.5x15 KM2's Relentless DIY steel bumper.
Check out the OMD mod on TW. It's a method used by Old Man Doug and many others. Basically find a good set of chevy leaf springs and take a couple leafs off the chevy pack and add them to the Toyota main leaf. The chevy springs are known to be 100x better than the Toyota leaf springs.

No, short answer at this point the AAL will probably make the leafs less saggy. Its the definition of a band-aid if you have effed leafs. I know you are saving but it is probably in your best interests and for longevity of the rig to just get a new leaf pack

I have frowning leaf springs on my '01 double cab. I have had an aal installed for the last 3 years and it has helped out a lot. Ordered new leaf packs last week but having trouble getting the vendor to ship them to me. Not going to name the vendor..... yet.

an AAL would help, but why not just use that extra money towards a leaf pack?

I was in the same situation, I bought AALs for my saggy packs

they were awesome, until my saggy leafs and wheeling broke them in half.

Couldda just had my leafs sooner, but I tried the band-aid route. Just do it right the first time

The op said he has a lot of expenses right now. Leaf packs plus shipping can get up there in price

Yeah, that's why i went with the OMD's, just go to the local U pull it and get the springs cheap, buy bolts for the new center pins and unless you don't have a grinder that's all it costs (plus the price of new shocks)
