Installed a KB Voodoo tailgate cap today , great product I highly recommend:

OK , so I finally got a chance to install my tailgate cap today , if anyone is on the fence about this product jump off it and order yourself one , the fit and finish are outstanding and the result is a tailgate that both feels more solid and sounds solid when closing rather than sounding like a tin can . Another bonus is the elimination of the annoying click click everytime I opened my tailgate due to the broken clips in my stock cap ( removal showed 4 were broken ) .

    Stock tailgate cap

Stock tailgate cap with my Leer 100RCC door closed

Removal of the stock tailgate cap confirmed that after over 4 years with my Leer on , I had no issues with the tailgate getting rubbed to raw metal as many seem to be concerned about

KB Voodoo tailgate cap installed :

This took me two tries because when I originally installed the foam tape to the vertical part of the tailgate it showed below the tailgate cap even though I approximated it's height by the pictures in the OP , however , no big deal , I carefully peeled it back off and re-seated it with the top of the tape flush to where the tailgate's vertical plane and top meet at the bend

Upon first attempt , my Leer door would not close all the way

I loosened my Leer installation bolts and moved it back about 3/16"

This step may or may not be necessary depending on how your cap was installed or the type of cap you have but I found that at least with my Leer 100RCC , sighting down the top edge of the KB Voodoo tailgate cap , you want it to align with the interior edge of the door stop on the Leer

    and perfect fit

Thanks for an awesome product Chad !

Decided to finally get around to moving my USA SPEC PA-15 from the glovebox to the centre console so I can access my ipod easier

I referenced this thread for removal of the interior trim pieces

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/57895-center-console-removal-w-pics.html

Removed the front cup holders , shifter knob and shifter trim

I found the PA-15 unit fit nicely in this area just forward and to the side of the cup holder trim piece . I didn't want to hear any rattles or have it moving around so I used some double sided tape to fix it to the plastic

I routed the cable from the radio down behind the glovebox and into this area ahead of time

I pulled the centre console , used a dental pick to pull up the carpeted bottom and enlarged the forward hole of the console bottom to allow the cable end to pull through

On the underside I gently pulled back the insulation , notched the reinforcing rib and trimmed the plastic so that there were no sharp edges

I had a couple wiring grommets kicking around so I trimmed one to fit and installed that and folded the insulation back over the cable

    Bottom

    Inside

So now I can access my ipod , still may refine a mount for it in the console but for now this will work

Looks a lot more handy there, never understood why people had their iPod hookups in their glove compartments, seems like pretty much the worst place to put it as it's the furthest area away from the driver's seat.

I'm surprised your floorboards are that dirty, but not surprised there is sawdust in your center console and shifter area.

What's the iPod case? Looks nuts.

The PA-15 generally just runs playlsts that you can toggle through with the stock radio , the only time you would need to access the ipod is if you want to go into direct mode and choose something from the ipod controls , the case is just a rubber shock resistant cover that's been on there for years

You're suprised there is mud on my Weathertechs in October in BC ? Lol

Not so much the mud, but the birds nest and the remnants of some small animal caught me somewhat off guard. Maybe it's the bird?

Looks good, I want to do this too. Has your cord ever shit out on you? My USA SPEC PA-15 has gone through two cords  They stop recognizing that my iPhone is even plugged in.

Nope , no issues with the cord

I bought this 2nd hand from another TW member about 2 1/2 years ago , been running evey day since but I leave the ipod in the truck , so the end doesn't really go through any connection cycles

I have a red lumber flag and tape measure in my console too, but not the ibuprofen.

I was thinking about the PA-15 a few years ago to deal with my vintage stock HU, but then I thought I should just get a new head unit. But I find so many aftermarket HUs annoying as shit that I just haven't pulled the trigger.

So the PA-15 seems reliable, eh?
