I don't know anything about building cars and no one I know does it, so, I just lurk

 

Glad you are getting better. I hate the bugs that take 3 weeks to get rid of.

Valve tick. LOL In the L72 I had it seemed like I was adjusting a valve every week. Solid lifters are a lot of fun. Actually got really good at knowing which valve it was by listening to the tick before taking off the valve cover.

 

Morning all:
Looked out the front window this morning, 6 deer standing in the front yard. Went to the back window, 13 turkeys in the back yard.

 

Morning to all the Cool Old Dudes ... and wannabes like me hanging around.

 

Was thinking the same thing! No deer meat, and walleyes are gone! In other words, the freezer is almost empty!

 

Fix it up and flip it?

I have a buddy that does that with Regals. He does not spend more than $500 on the Regal and makes them mechanically sound. The end cost is usually around $2000. He has a waiting list for the Regals.

 

Evening all: I think we all remember nice 57's being in the 300-450 price range! If only we made more money then!!!!! Just think, a lot of the guys that bought them had to make car payments.

My neighbors brother is at his place. He lives in Juneau Alaska.
He just bought a 2004 x-cab, 4-cyl., 5 spd., Tacoma, in really nice shape. There is a vibration in it when he lets off the gas, or downshifts (he uses the term compression braking). Says it doesn't do it all the time, just when he lets off the gas. He knew about it when he purchased it, and figured it would be NBD; just need to find the cause and fix it. Someone told him that it could be caused by a bearing on the main shaft in the trans. ???? He did replace one universal so far. Any ideas?

 

I have a little caribou, a little salmon, a fair amount of moose and halibut still in the freezer. But mainly because wife has a big group of family ('bout 11 people) coming to visit last two weeks of June. We've been conserving to have some to cook for them when they are here.

My little Tacoma worked hard today. Three truckloads of mulch delivered and installed at church today.

Three of us old geezers delivered and installed all three truck loads in about 2 hours. It helped that the garden center was less than 5 minutes away and was not busy at all.
