Humans are the same way, look at the way society is going these days should we just go away as well? You see more people fighting on youtube then pit bull fights, my parents have a pitbull and he plays with my black lab/pointer mix and another chihuahua all the time and he doesn't fight with them.

The pit bulls that you see fighting are the ones who have been trained to be like that or have not had much interaction with other dogs. Yes it is the owners most of the time for not training and keeping them interacting with other dogs.

Your opinion of people being ill informed for believing that certain pits are aggressive due to the lack of their owners is just that, your opinion. Just like my opinion of you being ill informed about your knowledge on pits.

I second all that... Ive worked with dogs for years. I own a rottweiler (also an "aggressive" bully breed.) Its all in how you raise them. genetics have a mild impression in the beginning but its all how you train. My dog was bred to be a protection/bite working dog. He is the sweetest biggest baby on earth. Plays with kids and is a happy go lucky dog. NOT to say there werent things I didnt have to fix but all of that was easily taken care of with simple training.

Sounds to me like you are judging off of a simple interaction with a small number of pits.

Educate yourself. Go to a shelter and meet all the pits in there and tell me how many are more friendly and happy to see you then the labs and "family" dogs who are cowering in the corner.

The pit bull topic was beat to death several times, but just my 2 cents:

I've been training gun dogs for 20 years... never any pit bulls. But to say all pits should be put down is a bit extreme and ignorant. But to ignore the breeds history is also ignorant. A pit bull is not the right dog for a first time or amateur dog owner. You really need to know the breed and how to train them.

Pointers point, retrievers retrieve, and pits fight. You can train a pointer not to point, some retrievers won't ever retrieve, and it's the same with a pit bull. Every dog is different. But if you do nothing to train them they'll most likely do what they've been bred to do or what they have to do to survive.

I feel bad for pit bulls because of what they were bred to do. And they get a bad rep because of the ones who aren't trained right. My friend has a great pit bull that plays nice and is very friendly, but perception is reality, and he knows that. So he's not about to take it to a dog park and let it loose without watching it to make sure it's following the rules he laid down.

I just saw this now, but this is very ignorant. A little research and watching Cesar Milan will tell you that a pitbull is one of the best breeds to own family wise. It is all in the way the owner trains or doesn't train for that matter. Don't be against a wonderful breed of dog for a small number of incidents when they're untrained. It's shitty owners that are the problem, not the dog, they don't know any better. Here's a few examples of mine for you

    ImageUploadedByTapatalk1397061614.374748.jpghe like bubbles
    ImageUploadedByTapatalk1397061638.803866.jpgand water
ImageUploadedByTapatalk1397061711.725455.jpghe fluffs his pillow like a human. He also eats off a fork like a human it's funny.
ImageUploadedByTapatalk1397061770.401552.jpgand that's my very young nephew at the time.

Such shitty breeds right? Please dude, don't be ignorant and "don't bully my breed"

Is this one a mini or full size? Ours are "minis," but they are well fed so they exceed the miniature weight.

Zoie chases what she wants to... a stick, if she feels like it. A ball, she'll go look at it and walk away and she's 100% pure retriever... I think she's defective :(

So I am probably picking up a pup/dog this summer. Most likely a rescue or a mutt in the papers. Just subbing because I love dogs :)

He's got the classic german stance. How are his hips? Jayce has a big ass J-Lo booty, not classic German at all. Her big ass bounces back and forth every step while she walks.
