I was wondering if any of you have come up with any great invention to open and close the rear sliding window in a double cab from the front seat? (Other than getting a power window)
    Thanks!

does that guy still make those kits? I thought I ran into that somewhere else and he said he was finished making them.

I would be interested in making a kit myself if i could figure out the window components he's using.

As far as I know not anymore. He sold the remaining window brackets he had when he was making his kits. I pounce on it when I had the chance to get one.

This specific bracket lays between the glass window and the trim in the window channel.

This was the latest thread he had before he closed up shop. Page 60 and up will be your best bet in inquiring infos in making your own kit. He also shared a diagram of exact measurement on that bracket, so you can machine one yourself.

That kit is pretty cool but how does it unlock the latch to open it?

It doesn't. The motor is set to stop just before the latch closes.

For the rest, there was also a mod that used a linear actuator to open/close the window. It is louder and slower then BenWa's creations, but it did work, and was a bit cheaper. Doing some searches should find you a mod thread.

I just finished doing this one

It works great, but really is as loud as they say. You cannot beat it though for about a hundred bucks.

I actually used a dremmel to smooth the edge of the latch so it closes all the way, but does not clasp shut (the actuater holds it closed in place).

I ended up removing the latch(part that you push in to unlock, cause it is removable). If by any chance I go back to stock I can always reinstall this part.

For the latch, you can also just use a black zip tie, and put the tie up by the hinge on the latch. The zip tie keeps it from closing. This is what I did when I had the linear actuator installed.
