Has anyone swapped chrome bumper for stock black one?

Are there any issues swapping chrome oem rear bumper for stock black oem bumper. I have the tow package on mine and want to make sure the stock black bumper has all the same holes as the chrome one for hitch, etc.

 

They should be the same...

Agreed! Just replaced my no problems, lots of clips, bolts, and screws, but no problems. Thanks for the help

 

I traded my Chrome for a Black one and it was fine. Mine has the tow package and his didn't. There is a write-up on in the Mods/Tutorials section done by Al.

I swapped mine with an old man who had a 5 lug. He wanted his truck to be more visible so he preferred the chrome and I preferred the black:

Thread revival alert!!! I am searching for a black rear bumper.
Does anyone know the part number, or if anyone besides toyota sells them?

I have a guy that will buy my chrome one for $200...if I can find a black one I would do it in a minute.

Also the color matched ones, are they just painted? Because the guy that wants my chrome one has a silver one, could I just paint it?

 

I did just the opposite swapped my black for chrome.

yes, color matched is just painted, you could just paint it. i would suggest you get his silver one, then try to trade that for a black one plus cash! im sure there are plenty of silver trucks that would love to have a color matched bumper.

 

Yeah that's not a bad idea, I hate to run around without a bumper until I can make a deal for a black one though, but it is not that big of a deal, it would only be for a little while.

 

Just put the silver one on "just in case" until you can trade.
