There is always someone who thinks he is better than other people, if the soldered metal melts the relay and fucks it up, I know who will be pulling his hair...........

I prefer mods that are reversible if for any reason I change my mind, obviously this guy knows more than us about electronics and is a genius lololol

    Dude... it's a $10 relay.

    It's not a big deal.
I've done similar mods before to keep the power outlets hot with the key off.

If you know how to prep for solder so you don't get cold joints, you can do it without melting anything.
Reversing it is a $10 relay.

Compared to other methods that involve bending the terminals on the relays... that can break the plastic base, and you can't reverse it without a new relay anyways because the terminal will probably break off.

There's a bunch of perfectly good ways to do the mod.
All run the risk of needing a new $10 relay to reverse.

If you are in a state that has inspections, the mod MAY cause you to fail inspection, so you might have to reverse it every year or two.

Much easier to have a spare $10 relay in the toolbox and simply swap it out before inspection ;)

How do you conclude that I think I'm better than other people. Please, enlighten me. This is a mod thread and such personal attacks are unnecessary. If someone wants to post another way, fine. If someone wants to post their way is the cleanest or the best the it better because because if someone has a cleaner way or a better way then their claims of supremacy are null. He said his was the cleanest. I contended that my way was cleaner but I wasn't aware I was somehow insinuating that I was better than anyone when I challenged his claim and then questioned his counter-claim.

woah now, let's not get riled up over mods.

you each have your own way of cutting the pie, both with their faults, now everyone has a choice in method.

Exactly. I'm still not sure why everyone gets so bent out of shape if you post a different way of doing something. It's not like any of us are getting paid for our ideas here. Sheesh.

How difficult is the BHLM? Has anyone had any significant issues with the resealing?

    Later.

It's actually not that hard. The hardest part was getting the last screw out from under the light on the fender side. I followed viet2100s post and used the window weld to seal. Been over a week in some rainy weather and I haven't had any issues with it yet. Good luck man.

That process to turn off the seatbelt chime will not work on your 2013. It has to be done by the dealer (or by yourself if you have the hookup and the software).
