Nice... that's what I'm looking to do... STI, Forrester, Legacy... how difficult was the install? I've heard it was "pretty straight forward" but then also seen where someone bitched about all the metal shavings they had after so that doesn't sound so "straight forward" lol

Definitely not straight forward.

Only one of four mounting holes lined up. With the Forester seats, they sat WAY too high for my liking with the Subaru rails/brackets.

So we ended up cutting off the brackets off the Subby and Tacoma seats, then welding on the Tacoma brackets to the Subby seat rails.

Semi PITA to do it so that you don't bind up the seat sliders and have it all lined up correctly.

Once everything was all welded up, it's now a direct bolt on at factory seat height.

That's a pretty awesome transformation! The headlights and grille look a million times better.

 

Just ordered me up some billy 5100 shocks, Eibach coils, diff drop bolts, Toytec aal.
Hopefully get it by friday and installed by the weekend.

Surprised you mounted your Maglite to your desk though

 

This is the spot I chose. Pardon the dirt and grime.

 

Changed out rear diff, t-case and tranny fluids for Amsoil. T-case looked pretty clear but rear diff and tranny were nasty. One thing that surprised me though was that there was no magnet in the tranny drain plug.

 

there are magnets in the pan.... you'd have to remove the pan to clean the magnets

 

No pan on a manual.

 

if its a manual why would u expect to have magnets? if u have metal coming out of a manual, u have larger problems.

 

Ohh that's a good spot.. I like it because it's so hidden. Out here in the city a crack head sees a quater on your seat and smashes your window for it. So I try to leave nothing out in the open.
