Blocks always stress the leafs more then AALs. I don't know what that guy at Toytec is smoking... Read the spring refurbishing thread in the suspension section. I refreshed my leafs this way and couldn't be happier. It may sound crazy taking leafs out of other packs but it just plain works. Plus it's cheaper. Leafs are simple, no need over complicating them. I got 2 pairs of leafs of of a ford truck that will work as AALs if you want to go that route. I've got leafs out of that truck pack and my Mustang's old original pack added to my original pack with the overload removed and couldn't be happier with the way it turned out. How much lift are you looking for in the back? Also, take a picture of your leafs and show us what your talking about with them. I also have some U bolts from 4WP if you need it. I doubt they're long enough for blocks but they'll definitely work with AALs. (stock could be long enough for one AAL if you can get them apart. I've reused mine twice now)

Also, get a new center pin when you do the AAL from your local parts store. You'll need a 3/8 bolt. It will come long and you just cut it down when you get it in.

Also, check with Toyota regarding your LBJs. They have a recall on them so you may be able to do that at the end of this work and let the dealership align everything for free. ;)

And beer at the end of the project? I've got replacing front shocks/coils down to less than a 2 beer job. :D For both sides.

My current 7 leaf heinz 57 pack.

Haven't you heard, that is the battery pack cooling mod. Cuts the battery temp down by 7.3 degrees and adds 3 kw to the drive wheels. It can now do the 1/4 in under 21 seconds.

Too poor to list anything interesting.
At least the time is measured in beer, instead of hours.

I'm glad they're coming out with more session beers. Makes it easy to quench your thirst while working on things.

First time I did coils it did take more beer. After doing coils on the taco and 4 runner I've got pretty fast. As long as I don't have to deal with top plate spacers, have a bench vise, and obviously my (modified) HF spring compressor it's not a hard job.

I will stay away from the blocks.
I was thinking about 1" lift in the back because I'm going 2.5" in the front.
How much lift do you get when you go the refurbish route? Is it always a surprise at the end?

Since we're talking about what the Toytec guy said he also said that I would have a rough ride if I put the Ebiach coils on that I already have without a heavier aftermarket bumper. Is that false too??
Thought is to just go an inch now and then later put the new could on and then refurbish the leafs and then get Bilstiens for the back when I can afford it.
