I think i got a bad batch this tank. I like to use the more expensive places, I find I get better mpg then the cheaper places. Last time I filled was a 7-11

Sometimes I get premium or super gas, but I think it gets burned up quicker?

Your truck will run best and get the most hp on 91 octane. The ECM will detune itself to run on 87

Oh, really? Is that bad and for all tacomas or just not favorable? I'm sure its been detuned by now

    no, it won't

our engines aren't optimized for higher compression like engines that require 91
the ECU would adjust for the 91, but you won't see much, if any gains from it

Just the 4.0. The 4.0 is designed to run on 91 octane. But it will sense detonation and detune itself to run on 87 octane. It just doesn't get as much mpg or power

3" Toytec spacers, Bilstein 5100s in the back with add a leaf and overloads removed.
I'd rather have a little bro-lean than rake. But I didn't want 3 in the front and none in the back

Look it up. Plenty of threads on here. The 4.0 runs best on 91 octane, it's actually what is recommended for that engine. But it will detune to run a lower octane fuel

    didn't mean to stir shit

    2nd gen FSM states 87, but there's a note that 91'll "help"

never seen a dyno for that claim though

Yeah ive seen that it does say for more power at 91 but not 93. Now I wonder which one will actually be healthier for the engine the 91?
