    ok new member here, been lurking for a good 6 or so months and have researched a ton of stuff on here about the 2nd gens (used to have a 1st gen a while back) anyway... i have an OME lift coming for my 2012 with Dakars, i haven't really seen any installation guides on the rear like the front end. i guess my question is other then replacing the shocks and the leafs and re-doing the u bolts and brake lines, is there anything else that i need to be prepared for? also anyone have any information on the bolt for the UCA's? is this something that i can get online or do i need to go to the stealership? thanks for the help!

    secondary question... any ideas on the torque specs?

    i saw that collar extension, i didn't get shims though, i've read conflicting posts on doing both the carrier bearing drop and the shims, and have seen where one or the other was good. i guess if i need them i will just order them later. Thanks for the suggestions!

    Some of the instructions I read here had you put the rear hanger on first, that's definitely a mistake. Make sure you attach the front first, the back will slide in nice and easy after that.

    The colar extension is a good idea as well.

    If you take the bracket for the brake lines off of the axle you'll have a little more slack to play with when you're putting the leafs on.

    Good luck with your install.


    Edit:

    I installed 2.5 degree shims because I had them. I had a slight vibration between 10 and 15 mph. I then installed the carrier bearing drop, which reduced the vibration "slightly". I'm considering trying the 3 degree shim to see if that does anything.

    Don't forget to retorque everything after you've driven the truck for a day or two. Most of the torque specs I found seemed low, but I didn't go over 90lbs on the u-bolt nuts.

    Sorry man, but that's incorrect.

    "O" and "+" are indications of arch of the leafs to compensate for the Taco Lean. "+" means there is more arc and "O" is neutral, in relation. So Rockets, the one with the "+" would go on your drivers side since there is inherently more weight on that side.

    To answer which end goes forward, the end that arrived open (you'll have to install an OEM bushing) goes to the rear hangar bracket.
