Thanks! I will be at rock therapy which will have Porta potties but might get that anyway in case they smell as bad as they did last year.

She used a log when I took her hunting, but want to make it easier for a whole week.

What about out on the trail? What are your suggestions for that? Bring the portable one with?

Not a bad idea to bring it on the trail. They're easy and quick to set up and take down in like 10 sec. It's really about privacy. Chances are you won't need it on the trail, but in case you do it's not bad to have it.

Using the porta-johns is fine but I like having our privy just for a place to change clothes if we're in a large group and they don't wanna see my junk. :anonymous:

It's all how you present it. The helicopter seems to be a crowd favorite. :D

Of course it is. Feel free to log in and get me banned or something fun. I was Tacosupreme on most all the other offroad sites, but some dbag already had it here.

I posted this over on the RTT thread but since it is kind of expo related I'd throw it up here. I'll post up how its tied into the dual battery setup I'm doing at a later date then.

Too much to list, but enough to get me in trouble. Repeatedly.
The ladies like 1) bathrooms, and 2) warmth. Everything else is way down the list. For warmth, layers and blankets and bedding are what you're looking for. If it's her first time, I recommend starting her off with primitive but official campsites, as they generally have a pit toilet as a minimum. If you're headed to DV, research the Adopt-A-Cabins, as most of them have some killer outhouses built by the Men In Black (most are less than a year old).

As for gear, shop your local Goodwill or Salvation Army. That's where 80% of my gear is from. The minimum you need (and usually the maximum, too) are: pot big enough to do one-pot meals, fry pan, fork and spoon for each person, big sharp knife, BBQ tongs, BBQ spatula (burgers and pancakes only, really), and a metal cup for each person. Plates and bowls are nice to have. Can opener and corkscrew if you're going that route. Anything else is luxury.
Stove: I'm old school and prefer white gas ("camping fuel"), so I use the old boxy Coleman stoves. No complaints yet.
If you want to go rugged and impress her, take nothing more than a lighter, a BBQ grate, a fork, a knife, and a cast-iron fry pan. And that metal cup. That minimalist setup will have you in good shape for nearly anything.

    Thanks for the advise.

We are going to be staying at AREA BFE in Moab. No amenities besides porta-pottys. I have plenty of stuff to keep her warm at night with a good sleeping bag, blankets, and me. I ordered one of the pop up potties that box rocket suggested. I have been setting her expectations low as far as accommodations so when she actually gets there she might be impressed. I forgot about one pot meals! Good call on those. She is a phenomenal cook and has decided to take on the challenge of planning meals so I need to suggest that.

I have a wine cork puller in the trailer if anyone needs to borrow it in order to console the misses.

I agree on the baby wipes, women love em and to be honest they come in handy for a quick clean. I get mine at Costco and have a bunch of packs with fresh ones.

On the list, Check, & Already in the truck. Earplugs is an interesting one.

    Noted!

Already got the wipes! Knew those would be a necessity.

Serious about the earplugs, if she is not used to sleeping in the outdoors it will be a big help. If she decides to turn in earlier than the camp drunks one night she wont have to listen to that either. Trust me, if shes not getting sleep she will not be happy and you will be 100% at fault
