Just bought my dream Tacoma after having a Prerunner for years. I going to do it right with coilovers and adventually UCA's 2.5" to 3" mid travel lift for 33's.

I'm leaning towards Fox with reservoirs. I can get the back shocks for less than Kings and I figure mine as well have them match...

I heard that Kings, and Fox are the better than the rest. I've also heard Kings are better than Fox. I'd like to hear what you think are the best and WHY or if you think there is no difference...

    Thanks...

Hit the search button and you should find plenty of info on coilovers.

Also consider Icon, Radflo, and even ADS coilovers. Really can't go wrong with any of them, but Icon, FOX and King are most popular. King is usually at the top of the list in terms of quality and ease of rebuilding.

Cost wise Icon and FOX are generally more affordable than Kings.

If buying COs you might as well get the extended travel COs which means buying UCAs at the same time.

OK, so there's progressive and digressive dampening, and I believe that's the difference here more than anything.

    progressive: focuses on dampening impacts
digressive: focuses on dampening quick extensions

IIRC, ICON is better digressive, King is better progressive...

When I did my lift, I only went for OME because I never thought I'd be doing this much to my truck. From my experience with them, OMEs suck for digressive dampening. They shoot to full extension like a cannon. I've ridden passenger in an ICON-setup FJC, and the ride is noticeably smoother. I guess I'm saying this only because I think you can't go wrong with ICON, and if King/Fox is better, then determine how much better it is and weigh the cost.
I have no experience with King/Fox, so can't really give my opinion there.

    ...too much shit to list.
Progressive/digressive are just valving characteristics. You can valve any of the big brands however you want.

You should go with whatever brand you want! I personally think that icons are good but the consensus is choose a color.

Icon stands behind their product like no one else and beat most their competitors in performance.

Contact Andy over at Got Exhausts! You won't find better deals on Icon suspension ANYWHERE! Trust me...I tried LMFAO!

kings have the best upper mounting I think, way beefier than icons, and don't get rusty like foxs

Pro tip: All shocks corrode, no matter who's sticker is on them if you don't take care of them. That said, the quality between brands is about the same at equal price points. King race series shocks are about the same as fox race series shocks, etc. All of their prerunner series and OEM replacement shocks are made of cheaper materials no matter the brand. King, Icon, Fox, and Radflo are all a good choice, but keep them clean and waxed or corrosion will occur.
