Truth! Thanks guys. She's awesome :)

Sucks. Wind noise isn't too bad, my truck's pretty noisy already with the MT-R's. But the drag sucks big time. I'm getting around 200 miles to a tank of gas with all this crap loaded up. Pretty lousy mileage.

Will do! Pulled into Flagstaff at around 1300 yesterday, stopped by Mother Road Brewing company for a much needed refreshment. Already seeing tons of bitchin expo rigs cruising town, and met some cool peeps at the brewery rolling a Sportsmobile.

Heading down to Mormon Lake for the overland expo later today. Pics to follow :)

Nice did you get the 4foot or 6? I've been looking at these, but I can't decide if 4 feet would be enough space to adequately cover two people in the event of a rain or a lot of sun.

I have mixed feelings about awning. I've almost bought one a few different times, but then I think how much I'd actually use the thing. I have an awning on my travel trailer and barely use it. What more if I mount it on my truck, which isn't as stationary as my TT. Mehh, maybe I'm just lazy

I have been using a tarp for a while and it works well, but it is a pain to find trees to pitch it to. I don't know how often I would use it either. I feel like I wouldn't get my $ worth out of it, but it would be nice.

Yeah I feel the same way. Great to have, but not sure I'd get my money's worth.

That being said, I'll probably still get one in the near future lol :D

I said the same thing for the longest time. Then when it rains and I have to get out of my rtt to get something from my truck.. I'm glad I have it. But for the most part it's not really needed.. nice to have

I did a review of the smittybilt trail shade a while back. sounds like it could be a nice inexpenseve solution. not near the capability of a full blown awning, but it's quick, cheap, and doesn't take up a lot of space.

Looks pretty high quality in a nice pack for such a cheap price. Added to the future plans list!

The four foot really is about 4 feet 10 inches. I took an exact measurement and it's on my build thread. Enough to cover both my driver and passenger door

Did a day trip to a private beach camping spot the coast guard has here with some of my buddies from work. Would have stayed and camped the night but my wife is working the night shift. it was 75* here today which is hot for Kodiak so it was a perfect day to go out there.

What do you guys think of using this Tcase shield as opposed to an actual Tcase skid, to save money and weight. As Im sure you guys know the Tcase skid is the heaviest of the skids. I already got ifs and trans skid.

I would go for an actual skid over that. The skid would prevent the weight of the truck resting entirely on the transfer case from ever happening. The shield may help prevent leaks, but a hard hit is going to basically ignore the shield and send all the damage upwards.

As for weight I wouldn't be too concerned as it is actually a little beneficial. Skids are down very low which means a lower center of gravity. I actually had my skids off a couple of months ago and driving around felt very different, and not in a good way.
