So I hear, I have read about every thread on this site regarding BHLM but I just can't seem to convince myself to crack'em open.

I felt the same way before I did mine. I would say the hardest part was actually getting the lens separated from the housing. Everything is hot and your trying not to break anything. From there its easy sailing. Just remember to take off everything that you can.

My reason for purchasing one is due to past experience with them in several vehicles and especially 220k trouble free miles running on my old truck. It also is a much lower cost over the life of the filter. I understand your opinion and I'm not going to bash yours but I also have mine and from my experience there is nothing wrong with a K&N filter as a replacement and in fact helped increase performance and mileage on my old truck.

Well I did it...I finally bought my Father In Laws 04 4 door Tacoma...... I have known this truck all its life and it only has 36K on the clock. I have had it at my house all winter and already did the grey wire mod, activated the alarm, killed the daytime running lights, and took off the running boards. I just ordered the DIY bumper from Relentless, and am researching the best 3" lift.... ( Ideas WELCOME) After my 85 Frankentruck this will be a mild build but something my Wife will like to ride in ON the road :) Keep on Wheeling...

    Thanks!!

Surprisingly not. The light of course illuminates it, but it doesn't bother me at all, it's not really a glare. I think maybe on a lighter color it would be worse, but I like it.

I'll find the thread and post it, bear with me... Edit: Here it is.

OT, but how is your frame holding up under the road treatment in Vail? I owned a condo in Lionshead for over a decade - sold a few years ago - and I always worried about the vehicle we left out there...

My dad and I installed the skid plate today on my TACO. I bought it from bullet proof fabricating. FYI if you buy from them their measurements can be a bit off which makes it more difficult then it should be to install. Thanks to my pops we were able to drill some other holes to align it. So here is a pic ladies and gents :D

I have had no problems so far, even parking outside almost all the time. I have about 50k miles on my truck and theres some very minor surface rust in couple of places on the frame that i plan to hit with some rust encapsulator this summer. Almost all of my driving is on mountain roads so lots of mag chloride. The only real issues I have had have been with rocks on the road so I have a few rock chips in the body paint and a cracked windshield that will be fixed this summer.

Hi all, got started about 6:00 am and finished about 10:30 am. Installed a ICON
3 leaf progressive pack on my 2011 tacoma SR5 DBL cab 6' box with non tsb. Everything went well except I needed a 22mm deep socket to install new u bolts. Decided to leave the helper on as well so 6 leaves now instead of the 3 I had.
Center hub to fender before was 20.5 drivers side now at 22.75.
Center Hub to fender before was 21" pass side now 23.25.
Looks good only a 1/2" Tacoma lean really not noticeable. No squeaks and rides well with the stock shocks. the rake looks ok but I will want to raise the front
at some point . Glad I tackled it.
    Have a great holiday weekend.[IMG][IMG]
