Is this a common issue? I've seen others say things similar. I've yet to purchase lines.

    Hi,

I hope to answer both of your questions at once with this post.
Most of the time the lines fit snugly into the brackets with little to no modification. However, every so often this does come up.

These lines are plug and play and the ends are designed to work with Toyota trucks. The most common issue is that the lines do not fit snugly enough in the bracket, the reason for this issue is unknown to me but it can be easily resolved in a few ways.

    1. The majority of the time people easily resolve this issue by taking channel locks to the brackets and slightly adjusting them so that the lines are held in place tightly (much like Arrowshot did with the rears). 99% of the time this is how this issue is resolved.

    2. Some members opt to but new brackets from their local autoparts store, this is also a simple and cost effective way to do this.

    3. Some members use zip ties or medal wire to hold the lines in place. As far as I know this is also an effective way to keep the lines in place, but is not advised if you do a lot of off-roading. I personally would not opt for this option but I understand some members have.

I hope to have answered your questions thoroughly, but If I missed something, or was unclear, please let me know.

    JP

    John,

I think I found the issue with your install. You need to move your lines up (1) slot and place the bracket over the very top slot. See photos below

    Your install:

I am looking for some longer than stock lines for a 08 Tacoma in blue. Can you send me a PM for those. Thanks. I put the procomp 3" lift, but I am between 3-4" atm. Stock lines work, but don't want to chance it.

Installed my lines today and I have to say that the difference is very noticeable. I "emergency braked" a couole of times around the block and they performed very well over stock. I am going to drive from Beaumont, Tx to Lubbock, Tx this week, so I will see just how well they perform on that trip. Anyways, they are very good lines.

    Eldo,
Did you have to Dremel the brackets out thinner? You can see from my post after yours that I have run into the same problem.
    Thanks

    @ Arrowshot.
Don't bother with doing anything to the brake line brackets. That way, if for whatever reason the OEM lines are to be installed someday, it can be done easily.

There are "cleaner" ways to this (lathe), but I used a dremel tool to remove what I'll call the top portion of the hex fitting on the line. This allowed the line to go-through the brake line bracket far enough in order to use the OEM retainer. I have drawn a red arrow on your pic to show.

Also, you'll have to add a bit more arch to the OEM retainer. This can be done easily by hand (bent over a rounded surface like a screwdriver or ratchet handle). This will have the line fit nice and snug in the bracket.

    Hope this helped.
