Just wrapped up retrofit and did the same thing to the bowls. Painted everything else black. Turned out a little darker than I thought it would but I think it turned out good.

accumulatively around 12-15 hours or so but it was my first time, I took my time with everything and tried to do it right the first time. really happy with the outcome.

Two trails..odessa and duran. Both can be easily done in a day with a smaller group. There's a huge mine to explorer near the top as well. Pretty fun

Well...here goes. Planning on taking the Taco on a little road trip this summer to Banf over to Vancouver then down the coast back home (~6k miles, 3 weeks). Yipeee!

Part of getting things in order will include addressing the TERRIBLE road noise (did a trip to SF and the fatigue from the noise was not cool) and an audio upgrade. Sound deadening, resonance and wiring install for new component speakers means taking the interior out.

Saying this is going to be a big job is an understatement, and I was wondering if anyone would be interested to help knock it out. The Taco is my daily driver and having it down for only a day or so would be sweeeeet. Still putting together my parts and such still but expecting to do this soon.

Going up through Utah, Bryce, Zion, Capitol Reef National Parks, then up to Grand Teton, Yellowstone, Glacier National Parks, Banf/Jasper for 5 days, across the Canadian Rockies, Vancouver, Rainer, Mt. St. Helens, Crater, Redwoods, SF, and then home...whew.

 

Wow now that is awesome trip.

 

Yep, REALLY excited about it...just gotta get the hooptie ready.

 

Forgot to mention, will take any help I can get...free...food/drinks...returned favor (no back-hauling "produce" from Canada)...cash!

 

If i was doing that trip i would change all the fluids and don't for get the cabin filter.

 

Oh yea...will be a full-tilt fluid change and lube before/after. Air filter is washable (have 2x), cabin filter will be changed before/after. Undercarriage wash, clay bar + serious coat of wax. Blacking out the hood with vinyl. Possibly thinking about some other upgrades (any suggestions??) along with the audio.

 

Armor up the bitch, so you get really poopie gas mpg.
