Got them on at my dad's buddy's muffler shop.
The borlas are beast and now that the whimpy stock exhaust is of the truck it sounds great with the flow master.
Recommend it to everyone running stock systems. It's not annoying loud but enough to where it's got balls.

I run a Flowmaster 40 on my first gen and I think it sounds the best out of all the mufflers I've ever heard on the tacos, and I really don't think the drone is that bad. I don't like the magnaflows. Too ricey. But, they make the truck loose some low end torque, and gain some top end. Beware, prepare for the flowmaster haters haha

    It's a 13, LEX.

Haha yeah I've read some posts on here, smmarine, where people complain about exhaust systems on other people's trucks or ridicule their choices while they choose the quietest alternative. For me, it's all a matter a preference even if I don't personally prefer like a straight pipe almost haha on a little honda.. Hey I'm not driving it!

Thing is, I was used to my mild f1 with an FM and aftermarket cold air intake.. That V8, haha.. People knew I was coming :p and well when I switched over to my Tacoma I felt as though the only thing that was lacking was some noise. The v6 is strong but it doesn't always sound like it!

My problem with people that bitch about exhausts is that their logic goes something like this:

    1. I want a louder exhaust
    2. Just installed my new Flowmaster 40...it's too loud
    3. Flowmaster sucks. I want a quieter exhaust.

I love the tone of my Flowmaster 40, I actually wish it was a little louder. The next step up is a super 10 and that sounds like a loud, ricey, bag of poop lol

I posted this a few weeks ago, which lays out the sound of every Flowmaster muffler. I wanna get the deepest one, which I believe is the Super 44. I'm either gonna get that or the Super 40. Can't decide

If you wanna hear my truck listen to some vids from my build on your computer. Sounds pretty good. When I was getting my muffler, I found that the super 40 and 40 was supposedly the same muffler, one was just newer then the other. The super 44 was supposed to be the same sound, but more compact for smaller vehicles

Haha that's just a case of ignorance. You need to know what you want and what you're getting into before pulling the trigger.

And yeah I've got a 40 also, the drone is not bad. It could have a deeper sound but for a v6 it's nice and definitely a step up from stock. I wouldn't personally go with a borla or anything else for that matter on these trucks. This provides that little something extra on ignition, taking off, and higher RPMs while minimizing drone on the highway (there is some in the city but the music is either too loud or conversation too instereating for it to ever be an issue lol).

I've can't even hear my drone cause I usually have the windows down, music up, and I've got aggressive tires haha

    Howdy,
if I were going to put a Flow Master on my tacoma I would add the 60 series. I had one on a V-6 Jeep and it was great. It is the only one that is engineered for a 6 cylinder engine. It had a low tone with no drone. Have a goodun!!!!!!!!!
