I'm about to dish out money on a new leaf spring pack and would like to know from the three mentioned, which would give me the softest or smoothest ride? if I'm not mistaken, all three will give me 2+ inches of lift? Please feel free to comment if you have experience with any of them and compare them with stock ride as reference. Thanks!

Are you also replacing your shocks? Dakars will give you ~2.75" if i'm not mistaken. I love mine. I live down a bumpy farm lane which leads out to a bumpy paved back road. Not too harsh at all in my opinion, feels solid and rides like a truck compared to the my old sagging stock leaf packs. No complaints! Can't speak for the other two brands. GL

Thanks for the input. Im already running the longer 5100's, just need the higher leaf springs now. Does your Dakars squeak! Seems like a common issue amongst those that have them.

It will be mainly for light off-roading and dealing with regular city street imperfections. See, I used to have a Dodge Dakota before and the suspension on that thing was better than my brother's Tahoe. I could do 60mph on my way to the ranch thru dirt roads and felt like I was riding on clouds. I want to achieve the same on the tacoma. I'm not worry about payload. I have the air bags for that. I want soft ride on payment as well as off-road.

my dakars rode like i had no suspension for the 1st 100 miles or so then settled down and were still rough, i like that so ok for me, once i put my leer 100 shell on the bed it rode much better. if you have zero weight on the bed you may find these are rough, and yes they squeak sometimes, quite a bit, but nowhere near as bad as my 'custom' add a leaf on my new rig. on the skyjacker note i ran their shocks with my dakars, they were great. no idea about their leaf pack though.

That is where I'm leaning towards, because it says on their website that it rides same or better than stock, but no one seems to use them and you can't find reviews online. I hear about all pros here, but only on the expeditions and not the regular light duty ones. I know for sure Dakars have a stiff ride based on all of the comments here and that they squeak, but my brain says I should go with what is been proven to be a good product instead of the unknown. So there lies my dilemma,:(

I have run both the allpro stds and the expeditions and to be honest there isn't much difference in stiffness. Both have a nice ride.

They squeaked some initially after the install, especially when it was really hot out and dry....but 2 years later, i rarely hear them make any noise.

The Skyjacker packs were designed to provide about the same quality of ride as the factory packs, but get you 2" higher. So if you like the way your truck rides in the back now but maybe want them to be tad firmer the Skyjackers would be a good option.

OMEs packs are great and most run them, if you want them to ride softer you can ditch the 3rd leaf which will bring you down to 2" of lift. Folks complain about the squeaking, but this can be fixed real easy.

AP packs, well there should be enough info on here about them. They give you about 3" of lift and are an 11 leaf pack more designed for offroading.
