Your alignment is probably not good so that's why you're squirrley all over.

    Mine are:
    Camber -0.2°
Caster +3.0° (this is out of spec but I requested it. more positive caster the better at keeping it going in a straight line. i'm going to try +4.0° next time. you need new UCA to get high caster settings.)
    Toe 0°

It drives wonderful. Even though it's sitting higher now, it goes around turns more sure footed and faster than stock.

And get rid of the blocks and get a 3 leaf progressive AAL set from Wheelers or Icon.

First post here, so bare with me guys. I traded in a 2013 sport 4x2 that I put a 2" spacer kit on that totally screwed with my alignment. Everything I have read said that normally a 2.5" to 3" spacer kit would require UCA's to get proper alignment but mine was still jacked up. Got it close to where I wanted it, but still not perfect.

Now I have a 2014 TRD 4x4 and bought the same leveling kit (2"). I"m hoping I wont have to buy UCA's when I get them put on, but i'll keep everyone updated.

    1. = uumm wrong, 887?! sure man, wait NO
    2. = ummm wrong, block does NOT change ride quality in rear

    hahaha anyway....

drop setting to zero setting on billies with your 884's, do you have any taco lean? if yes add small spacer on top of ds side only, if not no worries. if the rear rides fine after this call it good. you will not need new control arms for this. if you find the front needs more lift you can use a larger top plate spacer tha wil yield 3/4inches of lift on top of the the 1.75 or so from the coils. then you may need new control arms.

You can run 887's on a Tacoma for 3" of lift FYI

right, but lets' think about why ppl are not running 886 on billies or 885 on billies or further to that 886 without added weight up front. would this not be the same shitboat?

i guess either way the op should have been told by toytec what setting was safe to use, he obviously was not. to be hones when i was buying from toyted the ppl i spoke to didn't know shit about the products.

887's are the same spring rate as 885's which are coincidentally the same spring rate as the 884's you suggested

Aside from it maybe accelerating the life expectancy of the factory packs due to the added height off of the axle, how would blocks change the quality of ride? Quality of ride referring to the way the rear feels over the bumps and not how it handles.

AALs certainly alter the ride. This is the case with both a single AAL and the 3 leaf mini pack. This makes sense because you are increasing the spring rate with additional steel.

So do blocks change the quality of ride, well this would really depend on how you use the truck and/or how long you own it.

Thanks, for all the responses! Great to have the support out there!! Kinda got confused which ones were for me! But my truck musta heard me bad-mouthing it! The lift has seemed to settle in now. Not nearly as squirly now. I still think I am going to get some new UCA's. What are your suggestions?

Unless you're going to do some serious, hard core off roading the ones to get are Light Racing UCAs made by SPC. They can be had for just under $400 and work very well. If you search LR UCA, you'll probably find several thousands of mentions of them on this forum.
