I just stick my phone on the dash where the windshield holds it in place. :D

There are a couple of issues though... If you snug the ears down too tightly, the plastic gears will strip.
The first time they strip, you can disassemble the thing and flip the gear over.
    The 2nd time, it's done.

Mine stripped after a month. I flipped the gear over and it's been fine for 6 months.

I have the cup-holder type, mounted to my Clutter Catcher console.

Go to proclipusa.com and select what you need and want for your truck. They are pricy but they work really nice. I use them in two other vehciles. In my tacoma my phone stays in my pocket.

    +1.

I have used them for some time in a few different vehicles and like the way they mount to the vehicle. Always a firm hold and no vibration.

I like the look of the Steelie - NiteIze. After reading the reviews on Amazon I have to lean towards the proclipusa.com product.

Quite a few reviews on Steelie found people (verified purchasers) with fried phones after long term use.

I installed the Panavise InDash mounting bracket, and a phone holder from ProClip. The decision on what bracket/holder to use really comes down to where you want the phone to be. I am OK with it down lower on the dash, but others may want it higher up.

I've had mine for almost 6 months now and phone still works like new. No issues with the mount and it still holds strong. One item of warning though... If you set your phone on top of your billfold.... it will wipe your debit card (ask me how I know).

I have one of these: http://www.arkon.com/slimgrip/slimgrip-smartphone-holder.html

on a suction cup mount that attaches to the windshield. Works well for me, and it's universal enough so I should never have to replace the mount when I replace my phone. Holds my relatively large LG G2 without any trouble. I'll try to get a photo later on.

I use a $22 arkon that mounts to the seat bolt. It has interchangeable pads, so when I go on trips, I swap it out for one that will hold my tablet instead. It tends to vibrate/jiggle a little over rough roads, but a well placed piece of velcro will knock out 90% of that and keep it still. www.amazon.com/Arkon-Floor-Gooseneck-Samsung-Galaxy/dp/B00585CLSQ

When I finally get around to getting a phone mount I am going to go with this:
    http://deltacycle.com/smartphone-caddy-ii
    http://www.amazon.com/Delta-Smartphone-Caddy-II-Black/dp/B007WEQIX0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1404075437&sr=8-1&keywords=smart+phone+caddy

I'll use the "bike stem" attachment option and find a place to mount it, probably on the center console where RearViewMirror has his steelie base mounted.

I won't go with a magnet mount like the steelie because I don't want magnets near my electronics. Not knocking on it, as I see it gets plenty of positive feedback but no thanks.

Proclip and panavise seem to be my favorite options but they can be pricey depending on what configurations you get.

I'm still debating since the Caddy II gets some mixed reviews about long term, but most negative feedback comes from cyclists and I would be using it in my truck not on a bike. And can always replace the rubber band material with some small shock cord if for whatever reason it breaks.

I made mine from strap aluminum, bent it to my liking, bolted it through the cup holder console, and zip tied a belt clip holster to it. Then I ran a cord under the center console to power it.
