I just bought a 2008 Tacoma crew cab from a slightly shady used car salesman. It was a huge risk but I paid cash and just last week, I was beyond relieved when my trusted mechanics gave it a clean bill of health! I'm a horse girl and I'm moving out of state in a few months. My truck has, what I've been told, is a factory bed liner. However, the tie downs have been ripped from the actual plastic. My mechanic suggested that a previous owner had an after market liner and then just ripped it out vs uninstalling it. I need to be able to secure my cargo as I move and I'm hoping to get some advice on what might work best for moving and then in the long term (picking up hay and 100° heat).

    I'm confused about your gender.

You're a "horse girl" but you claim to be a male in your profile?

Gender identity is a huge problem for people these days.

OP you bought a truck from a shady person and didn't have it check out first. That makes sense.

I think its a legit post. If she made an account to ask a question problem skimped over gender part of profile or some shit.

Anyways, sounds like OP is asking where to get new bed rails, and also as Homer clarified...the Tacoma has a composite bed....no such thing as a bedliner for 2nd gen Tacomas. And as far as I have seen, besides a junkyard..no place to buy new bed rails for factory cleats to fit into as dealers, nor parts catalogue list the rails for sale individually...unless you somehow get a dealer to custom order that stuff (is it even possible?)

A custom Utili-trac install or airline track, whatever you wanna do is probably best bet....but won't be easy to install without bed removed unless using rivnuts or something.

LOL...i remember when I first got my truck and thought "cool, I got bed liner!" Then proceeded to sling parts of a torn down deck into the bed and after that, paid no mind as I dragged boards with nails across the bed as I emptied the rear.

what a cruel joke to play on me Toyota!

Wow. Looks like they tried to lift the bed up with the cleats and they all pulled out. No clue how to fix that except for some new rails maybe? :notsure:
