Thought it might be interesting to see what everyone here drove before they got their Tacoma. I'll start, 1998 Ram 1500. Loved it and hated at the same time, it sounded great, was pretty good offroad and pulled anything you put behind it but it was continually breaking down and the best mileage I ever got out of it was 13mpg.

You're going to get people telling you to search and that this has been brought up before, so brace yourself. Just a heads up.

I drove a 2003 Mazda6 sedan w/ the V6 and 5 speed. Had every option (leather, heated seats, sunroof, "Sport" body kit and spoiler). Was a reliable enough car, but couldn't get a CEL to clear for the life of me, which was a common problem on the car. Still was a fun car to drive.

Wasn't ready to buy, but when I learned they were being discontinued I bought a new one. A couple months later I totaled it so I bought my taco which is the first non-Ford I've owned.

The day I bought this 1988 Mitsubishi/Dodge Ram-50 Sport 2wd. Drove it 17 years and snow never got in the way. Can't believe it's almost 10 years on my 2005.

I'll play... 2011 Subie WRX. I modded it a little. Dyno showed 315HP at the wheels. Blast to drive but I needed something a little more practical and I have always wanted a Taco so I traded the WRX in when I got back from Afghanistan. However, after the Taco is paid off in two more years I'll be getting a 2011 STi to play with :D
