Good deal. Got one, too. Be careful you don't unlock with the keyfob, open the tailgate, put the keys down while loading, then close the tailgate. The auto-relock feature will allow the truck to eat your keys if you don't open a door within 30 seconds. Haven't done it...yet.

 

And you likely never will do it. How would his keys have gotten inside the cab if he didn't open any doors? Only way this could happen is if he had a locking tonneau which was actually locked, set the keys down in the bed, loaded everything he needed to and closed the tailgate all in 30 seconds.

 

He is saying locked in the bed I think.

I tied mine to the passenger door so the tailgate stays locked unless i hit the button 2x. You'd pretty much have to have an auto locking topper for that to happen

 

I did mine the same. Tied it to the pass door.

 

Yes, the tailgate with a locking tonneau cover...without a cover, why would you have a locking tailgate?

Think about it...it's really very easy to do by mistake.

I'm not dissing the lock - I have one. I'm just warning him to be careful.

Still looking for a way to turn that feature off. Anyone? Bueller???

 

Painted the door sills.







I'm not sure how long the paint will last but it looks better. I may try bed liner if this doesn't work out.

 

I will be doing this with some liner material when I get around to buying it.

 

How about some Plasti-Dip, and then if you want to take it off or reapply, you can?

 

Nah, I'd rather have it last. I just gotta get off my but and order something. I'll live with however it turns out.

My access cab is done that to. I need to get floor seals.

 

That is where the weather strip meets the sill so I'm sure it would stick and rip it right off. I like the looks of the way it is but I may get some spray on bed liner.

 

I plasti dipped my step plates. Looks good but one good twist and it starts to blister
