How do I install a usb port on stereo

    Can anyone tell me how to install a usb port on the stereo. Are there any major tricks to taking the dash apart.

    mostly stock
    If there isn't already a USB port on the stereo then I don't think you could add one. Most aftermarket head units do come with them. Maybe someone with a newer truck can be of more help, I'm unfamiliar with the new head units.

    There is a thread on here somewhere about taking out the stock radio and soldering in some parts for a USB cable. I can't remember which section I saw it in though.

    there's a way to add an AUX plug to the 05-08 (I believe it's 08) stock stereos, I can't think of a way you could add a USB that would do you any good. are you just trying to charge something or play music (yes, I know that seems like a stupid question but it's important here)

    This.... there are some stereos that have a plug for CD changers that you can "split" with an adapter to have a USB or AUX and CD changer. But if your radio doesnt have this kind of adapter. what are you going to be using it for? if its for an IPOD or something like this have you thought of a RF wireless transmitter or possibly Bluetooth if your truck is equipped.
