I'm running 882s (500lb rate/395mm) and added a 10mm top plate spacer to account for the Elite bumper. I stepped up to a 1/2" TPS when I added the Budbuilt IFS skid. The Warn winch didn't do much to dip the front end when I installed it.

The 883s are 590lb rate and 375mm tall. I have no experience with them.

I've inquired about Icons since I want to get them eventually and Wheeler's recommended 700lb coils, 14" tall for the weight I'm running in the front.

    Bone stock. For now.
I emailed Dan at Wheeler's to see what he thinks. It just doesn't seem right that the Toytecs would dip that much.

I've run both sets but on an xtra cab. I quoted Tomtom because he has a heavier bumper and skid setup, so that may be helpful in your decision.

Here is where I started with the 883, read thru it , I eventually settled on the 882 and have been happy with them. I am not running any extra spacers with them.

    Thanks!
I sometimes wonder if I didn't give the 883's enough of a chance but I really like the flex with the 882's and my stuff is pretty light yet.

I'd start the install by throwing away the CB and diff drops.

Couple of my thoughts on 882s and a heavy front end:
    1. Cornering on pavement can be a little skeery. I've had to adjust driving style.
    2. I've had one instance of short braking that caused enough nose dive it was a leetle unsettling.
    3. Rock crawling is not quite Jeep-tastic but I get a good bit of flex that I don't see in pictures of guys running other C/Os.

Again, no idea on 883s and my next suspension cycle I'm going straight to Icons.

    (anyone catch the pun? :D)

I went from the N91s to the Sports. The sports definitely have a firmer feel to them.

your bumper/winch setup must be A LOT heavier than mine. I'm sure it is since I don't have winch weight and your plate bumper is heavier but even without a swaybar I've never felt like cornering was scary with my 882s and I've been known to drive a bit "spirited". ;)

I do love the flex I get with my OME setup though.

Do I need to do anything to my tg bumper to run a winch? I thought I read somewhere you needed to weld something to make it sturdy enough for winching...

The Elite alone was fine. Adding the BudBuilt and the winch is when I noticed it. I mean, shoot, I'm geared 4.56 and before the skid and winch, coming off the line was fun. With them, it now feels like it did when I had stock gears (4.10) and 285/75s.

I never weighed the Elite but I read somewhere it is in the 110 lb. range. The published weight for the BudBuilt is 55 lb. and 55 lb. for the m8000-s. I got the synthetic line specifically to keep the weight down. I've been putting off the belly skid due to the added weight.

I, too, still have my fun though. :D

Just had my exhaust manifold upgraded to the 01-04 'header type'. Should provide better breathing than my old one (which at one time cracked and was welded-up).

Sounds a little throatier, and slightly better pickup off the line. Been meaning to do it for a while, so I'm happy its finally done. I used all-OEM parts, including gaskets and new heat shield.
