I just put mine on my tube bumper, but behind the valance thingie would work good for fog, especially with a yeller lens. For normal night driving/offroad the higher it is the less shadows are cast.

What size bar is it? I have a 30" mounted in the lower. I drilled thru the crash cans and used extended hardware.

You will be fine if you want to do the crash bars. It all depends on the way you want to take your build.

What brackets are you speaking of? I just used the feet of the light bar. Or I have also seen some people use angle iron with all the pre drilled holes thru out it to mount.

    This is what I did.

Angle iron from Home Depot with some large U-bolts to hold it to the crash bar.

Completely (and easily) removable, yet hasn't moved at all in ~8 months.

Its a great easy and cheap way to do it. I recommend it.
I wouldnt waste your money . Measure the crash bars or I will measure mine tomorrow and gets new bolts to go thru the feet that came with the bar. Get lock tight. And you are good to go in the lower variance. I will post a pic of mine in the morning for you. Its the easiest and best ways to go.

Just took mine out tonight.... don't do it the way I did unless you never plan on removing it. It was a pain in the ass to take out.
