So I posted on the cheap mods but thought I'd make a post here too... I did the fog light anytime mod just exactly as piercedtiger wrote it out, but my fog lights won't turn on at all unless the tab is bent down properly. I used the same quick splice and everything, but my fogs ain't coming on. Any thoughts on what I did wrong or what went wrong?

Maybe the tab on the relay is shorting out when you bend it?

Anything I can do about that? Once I bend it back it reinsert it, it works fine.

Are you sure you have +12v going to the tab on the relay?

The quick splice may not be piercing the wire insulation

Trust me it's piercing. The light green wire is pierced as well as my red wire I'm using to connect. I can take some pictures tomorrow when it's light again, but I followed exactly as the write up said.

Ok...but are you getting +12v to the wire that you have going to the bent tab on the relay?

Perhaps you need to have the ignition on to have power on the wire you are tapping power from?

I did mine a completely different way, but I just thought I would try to help.

So I'm splicing into the light green wire, that should be bringing the 12v right?

I haven't read the whole mod but it sounds like the light green wire is supposed to supply +12v. In reality, any +12 source would work.

The fog light switch actually switches -12v to the other side of the relay coil. (at least this is how it works on the 2012) I assume they are all the same in that respect.

Is there something special about the green wire?

According to the write up it is a source of +12v that supplies power when the ignition is on.

Y'all are gonna love this... turned out the wire I was using had too thick of a coating and my splice wasn't going through it. So I switched to a different wire I had and tried it again... worked like a charm. Thanks for the help guys. Problem solved
