You can have the same size tire there is just an inch more sidewall showing diameter wise as you lose an inch in diameter on the wheel itself. I don't know what the tire size conversion for that would be but I know someone around here has that answer

The rims won't necessarily interfere. if you go big with your tires and rims w/o back spacing you would have to add spacers though as they would rub like crazy otherwise. It really doesn't matter if you don't have plans to lift it. I missed that when I read through the earlier posts.

The tire size I run with those is 265/75R16. That should match your current tire diameter. You can get a bigger tire if you want but I think all you need is 265/75R16. Want is another story :drevil:

So just a smaller rim. Keep in mind, 265/65R17 is not the same as 265/65R16. It is an inch shorter. The smaller last number (Rim size) needs to be compensated with a larger middle number (Aspect ratio/sidewall height) to maintain the same overall tire diameter.

Take your time, and plan. If you do want to lift, then consider that when planning for rims and tires as you dont want to do rims and tires after lifting.... a second time, as mentioned above.
If you have alot of life left on the tires, use them, and hold off on the rims/tires. You WILL spend alot of time on this site gathering info on what others have done... what you like and dont like. You may get new ideas which could change your plans.
Like mentioned above, take your time, research, after 3 months of checking this site out you will have a much better idea of what you really want/need to do to your truck.
Trust us, you will find out that your "wants" start adding up quickly.... $$$$

Okay i think i understand the tires thing. The ones i have now arent in the best shape and i'll have to replace them soon anyways, so might as well try and figure it all out now. I've been checking out builds like you guys suggested and DANG this one's a beaut. Almost positive i'd like to go this route (nix the running boards). Are the back windows tinted in this too? ynapajym_b9db5c2295c00f784d1ec861c74d3a704b7822c9.jpg

Hey, that's just like mine except he has no chrome! his winded look about as tinted as mine and if that's true it's normal back window passenger tint. Mine is like that but you can't tell. More tint usually always looks better but know your laws. You will get ticketed for tint.

Are you looking to black it out?

Really wish i could tint my windows :(
Debating the pros and cons of powdercoat/trd rims. How much does it cost to powdercoat? If i do that maybe i can buy racks too. But they definitely arent as cool as the trd rims...

It sounds to me just from reading that post that you want TRD rims. I am not trying to sell you the idea to justify buying my own- but I sense some regret coming. However, if you do enough research and find out how much powdercoating is, maybe you can do both and see what you like. I don't know the $$$ amount.

Have you considered plastidip? I know that's popular here and 100% reversible IIRC. (If I remember correctly)

I use a powder coater in Monterey Park, CA (near LA), Aero Powder Coating, 323-264-6405. They are a proffesional shop and do alot of work for big name manufacturers, and will also do "small jobs" like rims. Give them a call, Phillip (owner) is very helpfull and they have very reasonable prices. I think the minimum will be $175, so you might be able to get a friends set of rims or maybe some other parts coated, all for the same price.

Oooo, so for $175 could i possibly get mine and my brother's camaro rims powder coated? That could be a cool deal..

TRD Trail team rims cost $680 new before shipping. They are a great rim but like I said before, I think it would be best for you to use your mod money right now on the cheaper and more useful mods. They provide more utility/enjoyment per dollar. If you spent ALL your money on rims, you probably wouldn't be very happy. But if you spent your money on a BHLM, cheap lift, floor mats, covers, and some sort of rack or lighting or something, maybe a bed cover, you would probably be much happier!

Also, DIY whenever you can, it is a must for budgets! I'm not trying to tell you what to do, just offering my opinion.

What's a BHLM and how cheap a lift?

I get what you mean, and it makes sense. Its just im not trying to do too much and mainly just wanted rims...but doing other cheap mods sounds enticing... I would like to black out my headlights too

I really value your opinions guys and appreciate the input no matter what!
