I guess I've got to start this very soon....
So I am in the market for some sliders... I have the ability to make some with the help of a few friends that know more and have more than myself. Or... I can buy some. Either way I don't really like permanent but I do like practical. "Weld on" practically works as they should, "bolt on" practically comes off if need be. Last consideration is warranty on the frame... Does either void a warranty on a brand new taco. I would truly appreciate any and all input. Thanks in advance.

Not sure but I would think that a weld on would?
Although I'd rather go with welded on sliders so they're nice and sturdy on the frame itself, with bolt ons you got a problem with them bending the body, that's why the majority of users here pick the weld ons over bolt ons

If you're gonna be bashing on them every weekend I would get weld on if it's only gonna be a few times a year go bolt on. If you don't know somebody that can weld them on for free or cheap be ready to spend another 100ish+- to get them welded up so factor that into the price as well.

I can weld so that's not an issue... But yes, it would only be a few times year I'd presume.

Weld on on generally cheaper if you buy them from a vendor, as for voiding the warranty I haven't heard of it and there's tons of brand new 2012-2014 trucks with weld on. Also if you ever trade the truck in and want to keep them you can cut them off as well.

Personally I know one guy that has, but there have been dozens on TW that have. If you have a tube bender or access to one it'll make it easier for sure.

I've got a buddy with a bender. So that'll help. Just trying to decide on a design and honestly of I want to weld onto the brand new frame.

Just do some research and see what you like and go from there. If you stay I'm this site long though you'll do stuff to your truck you never thought you would

Yeah I hear you... I have definitely been researching. I've already done all interior led, reverse light led, fog light anytime mod. TRS fog lights, tonneau cover, blacked out badging and wheels. Not much but it's a start. On order is extra fuse block, bilsteins with aal and led hood/bed lighting.

I got the bolt on. Doubt they'll come off, but able if needed. As well, dealer said warranty would be lost if welded.

I haven't tried but I did upgrade the hardware to grade 8. If I remember right I have 7 bolts in each side.

If you want to make your own bolt on I remember a thread where a member had the CAD designs for a plate you could use. I'll dig a bit and try to find it.
Here it is, read through this thread and you might take away some tips to make your own bolt-on sliders.

I have Shrockworks bolt-on for almost 5 years now and never had an issue with them being bolted on. However the powder coating is a pain to keep touching up.
