IIRC the light is simply counting miles or kilometers since it was reset (should have been done at last oil change). Do you know how many miles since your oil was changed? The reset process is in the manual; it involves holding in the odometer/trip meter button while odometer is selected, then turning the key on and watching while the 6 digit placeholder lines blink out in sequence, then letting out the button.

99% of the driving public just collectively said...."tell us of this thing called an owner's manual".

Just reset mine. I do oil changes about every 3,500 miles so I'm always out of sync. ;)

Yes it's the maint rqed light. On by itself when the truck is running.
    Procedure is:
    Set to trip a.
    Turn off ignition
    Hold trip a and
    Turn ignition to on position
    Hold until 000000 appears.

If you can't get it to reset through the processes, take it to O'Reilly's or Autozone or Advanced Auto Parts and have them scan your truck...for free. They can see if it is on for other reasons.

You turn you key to power but not start, hold down the button on trip a, then turn the key off and then back on to just power while still holding the reset, then wait and it will count down
