Are you talking RTT? Is it possible? Yes. Would it take a little ingenuity and a custom built bed rack? Yes.
Maybe your question would be better answered over here

Thanks... I don't have a clue what RTT means.. LOL... Right now I have a Napier truck bed tent... So loading in the atv is easy.. I just secure it to the truck with a chain through the wheel to the hitch... You never know.

Don, you would have to build one or have one built. But very possible and not to hard. Or if you have a double cab run the tent on the cab.

I just saw that. Is there a weight limit for over the cab? What do you guys recommend to be the best support for over the cab?

 Did you follow the link I posted? RTT is roof top tent...I thought that was what you were asking about?

Here is our new set up. A new 17' Forest River Avenger. Tows well, but extra height and weight is very noticeable coming from our tent trailer. GVW IS 3800lbs.

Don't be knockin my ghetto truck tent  - dat shit works! Probably gonna just get a bed tent eventually though. Took the wife, dogs and rig wheelin into the Blue Ridge Mountains this weekend for some camping & fly fly fishing. Scratched the hell outa both sides but I'm okay with that, it's a truck, Tacoma at that, that gets USED and NOT a pristine mall-crawler.

My two weeks of camping are over. Was enjoying a nice camp fire and some light reading on Friday though.

that's the best part of camping! ...just sitting by the fire relaxing or poking at the fire. Best therapy in the world

Quick question, for the people who sleep under their camper shells: How do you keep the light out at 5am so you can sleep?

I've seen a few camper shells with curtains, or the stick on sun blockers for car windows.

Not a bad idea. I was thinking about hanging a painters cloth kind of thing over my shell and have windows open. Only part I am a little nervous about is having my tail gate open and legs hanging out in the middle of bear country. Where I am going is about 15 miles off the nearest paved road. Will have pictures up after this next weekend

Yeah, I did that while I was between apartments so I commuted down to the city for work every night (I work nights). It was only about a 45-50 minute commute, 26 miles (6 miles dirt road, 7 miles in a windy canyon and 13 or so on pavement). I'm considering doing it long-term next summer to save some cash. :D

I have a 2-week vacation starting August 2nd, not sure where to go or if I should just take the bike or the bike and the truck. Hrm...

I got a roll of reflectix insulation (basically the same silver bubble wrap stuff as windshield sunscreens) and cut it to fit each window and put some velcro on it and the window frame. Works great and also adds alittle insulation in the winter.

I kept my keys and bear spray close when camping around bears. I haven't had trouble but I figure I'll hit the panic alarm on the truck which might scare them away and if not I have the spray. I'd be tempted to carry a 12 guage with slugs but meh I'm not very fond of that solution.

For bears here are my general tips:

Don't spill bbq sauce or dinner all over yourself and then go to sleep, don't leave food or scented items (toothpaste, soap, chapstick, deoderant, etc) in the truck. Get a bear box for all that stuff and a bear resistant cooler and place them a bit away from the truck and you most likely won't have any trouble. It's pretty rare a bear's going to be all like "Nom nom nom tasty human legs sticking out for the pickings..." unless they're slathered in bbq sauce or last night's dinner.
