I got a 2014 TX baja DCSB and am new to the Tacoma forum. I like the height of it but wondered if there is any way to get the rear a little higher than the front. I am not sure if its the Taco lean that i see but at some instances it looks like the rear is lower than the front. I know it has 3 leaf with helper factory.
I heard there are leaf springs you can get that compensate for the drivers side lean being a little longer that the right side but not sure if I was reading it correct
The factory lift is in the front only? it must use normal trd rear springs but I could be mistaken.
I was looking the get TC UCA but had a few questions. First with the factory lift am I gonna see any difference with these on it? And any noise issues from the uni ball set up vs ball joint ?

    thanks

I wonder if a + shackle lift would help...?

Congrats on the new truck....I actually lifted the front on mine 1" more so I could fit bigger tires.
This is what I got for my Baja.

    Hey welcome to TW.

I just got a 2014 Baja as well and are having the same thoughts as you on the rear vs. front lift.

Only the front is lifted and yes the rear springs are stock springs like on a regular TRD. I'm thinking of just adding an add-a-leaf to boost my back end height some. I haven't researched it yet but you may need extended brake lines depending on which add-a-leafs you get.

After installing my Baja kit i noticed the same thing in regards to the rear being about half an inch lower than the front. This was also confirmed by my headlights which, post install, were clearly angled higher and blinding most cars on the road. The Taco lean is compensated for in the Baja kit because the drivers side shock has a higher perch compared to the passenger side. Non-Baja trucks have a taller spring on the front drivers side but since the Baja springs are both equal length a higher perch was their solution to the problem

I did the Icon 3 leaf AAL with factory overload removed. It got the height right where I wanted it. However, I'm having a slight clearance issue with it as mentioned in my other thread but think it honestly may be due to a minor quality issue specific to the AAL I received.

No extended brake lines are needed, the bracket relocation included with the Baja kit is enough. Grinding/cutting of a factory pack clamp is required for this and I believe also the Wheelers 3 leaf AAL's

thanks. On the icon 3 leaf aal how is the ride compared to stock? Do you have any pics of the truck with the aal only installed in the rear. Have you contacted icon about the the clearance issues? So if you were to guess if you take out the factory overload and add the 3 leaf to the pack what would the height added be? Thanks again.

Loving the truck so far. Removed side nerf bars, plastidip front and side emblems and remove the emblems from the tailgate this weekend. Only got 400 miles on it but gotta start somewhere lol

I didn't notice any real difference in ride quality. Its minimal. For pics check my build thread. Before, the wheel gap in the rear was 1/2 an inch less than the front. After, it's an inch greater. So 1.5 inch's higher overall.

I haven't bothered contacting Icon because honestly there's nothing they could really do. It'd be easier for me to just address the issue myself. It's not a major defect or faulty part, just an inconvience that needs to be dealt with.

Could you explain what you mean by clearance issue? I don't understand because you raised the back end. . .

Also, are you saying you need to grind / cut on the factory springs? Why?

    Thanks is advance

    This

I can tell by looking the clamps are physically skewed. So whenever the leafs flex it comes in contact with that bracket. But like I was saying, I think for the most part this problem is just specific to me getting a slightly off part. I've only found one other member on here who has mentioned something similar.

Now, for my most excellent illustration.

The icon 3 leaf is much more compliant than any single aal, plush when u need it...... Sturdy when u need it.

here is how she sits. I have a sport grill on order to get rid of chrome in front. Might Plasti dip rear bumper or wait and get an all pro one.

Just found this thread. I've got the same thing going one but looks worse with the Snugtop shell. Trying to decide between airbags or AAL. Any success stories out there with pics?

Just ordered the Firestone airbags with the daystar cradles. They will suit my purposes for now. Will probably put the front spacers and AAL when it's time to upgrade the tires. I'll post before and afters once I get the install done.
