Thanks for the pics. I'll definitely go that route. You know where I could buy some header wrap for cheap? The piece that other guy showed it was only around $33. Buying header wrap at O'Riley's is around same price.

Does the curve by the 4x4 actuator block access to the grease fitting on the driveshaft? Looking to choose between the DT and the URD Y-pipe.

    No.

If money is no object go URD. DT is crappy aluminized metal or whatever that crap is and it rusted out on my truck within 3 years. Just got a URD Y pipe and hope the stainless holds up to the salty winters better. It also won;t be cooking your actuator like the DT model.

Oh and heat wrap kills the finish and causes quicker rusting out.... I know first hand.

Bummer about your experiences with the DT :/ I like it because of the high clearance for the crossover pipe.

Looks like the URD is as low or lower than the OEM pipe. Can you confirm?

It should be at the same exact location for all connecting ends - it's meant to bolt right up.

Mine won't be installed until I get the new engine in, but maybe someone with experience first hand will chime in.

Why are you worried about how far it goes down? Skids? Many here have it that run skids.

One thing neither manufacturers tell you is that both brands require welding for a seal.

Yep, skids and ground clearance. I have a trans skid and a transfer case skid is on the to-buy list. I would definitely want one on the truck before wheeling with a URD y-pipe.

^^^ Thank you! The choice is made :)

Looking again at the install how-to pic that I posted and the thread it came from I noticed that the y-pipe in the pic is not the same one as the URD one laying on the ground at the beginning of the post
