Best girlfriend gift ever was when my girlfriend brought over her girlfriend.

Pretty cool that your GF got you $800 to spend. That's a decent size chunk of money for 18 years old.

Isn't $800 a lot to waste at any age? However that's a pretty sweet birthday gift. I'm impressed with her. OP - does she have an older sister? Is her mother taken? - What is tact?

But they are bad ass truck parts!!! As long as he steers away from these modifications http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2n...r-what-tackiest-tacoma-mods-your-opinion.html it's not a dumb idea.

Careful with your richard, you're gonna wanna avoid prehistoric STD's.

Oh come on that's stupid and unrealistic. What 18 year old even has a retirement account? If I had a girlfriend at 18 that put 800 into an Ira I would think there is something wrong with her. You are only young once, enjoy it.

And instead if giving it back to invest, why not include her in the decision making process and then use the cool new truck parts with her and take her camping and wheeling.

I think it's great an shows she cares about your hobbies and supports them. Make are you do the same back

    haha no, its no trap.

Honestly, she wants to get my truck all hooked up ALMOST MORE than I do! hahahah

and don't worry, last month was her birthday... I got her a nice necklace and made her a fancy dinner and all that shit.

and I just payed off my truck last month (I just threw down on the last 3 payements) and then guess what comes in the mail the very next day..... my registration!

she knows how much I want to build up my truck and all that so she liked helping out with it :)

but also noted, I am financially smart and YES I do have to work for just about all my money.

    1) I do set aside a portion of my paycheck for saving, a portion for "living" money, and a portion for truck stuff.
    2) the fact that I payed extra payments on my truck to avoid interest
    3) I spend what I can afford
