Can I make my 2009 look like a 2008?

I currently own a 2009, Tacoma Access Cab, TRD Off-Road and love almost everything about the truck with the exception of the rear seats, subwoofer and headrests. I think the 2008 version was much more functional.

I've searched in vain for a clear answer as to whether 2008 parts (back panel, seats, and storage lids) will fit inside the 2009 model. I'll purchase the parts to make my 2009 look like a 2008 model.

If anyone knows what parts are required and whether they will fit without modifications, it would be greatly appreciated.

Do you realy have a need to put people back there? If so, I believe someone here has indeed done a 2008 backfit. Perhaps they'll see your question and post. But if you are like me and just want clear storage space you can simply remove the console, seats and headrests to get a very clean rear cab area for carrying stuff. If you are interested in this I can find my thread on console removal and fabrication of a small carpeted plate to cover the point of removal.

Actually I've had 02 and 08 ACs in the past, and they both had ample room for the kind of stuff I wanted to haul around back there. It's just that the "refinements" they made starting in 09 have crossed the capacity/convinience threshold IMHO.

Thanks for the link paintdiddy I'll check it out

Here are two pictures, one of a 2009 model and the other, presumably, a 2008. From what I can see the child seat anchors, or mounting points are on opposite sides (2009, Left Side and 2008, Right Side). I've had the back panel off once before while installing XM radio but I didn't make note on whether its possible to unbolt the child seat anchors.

The 08 seating looks more functional than the 09, except no headrests. That might be a safety risk for rear passengers. For info here's my 09 with all the seating removed and just a sub box installed. Lots more room if you don't need the seating.
