    Truck is a: 2007 4x4 /double cab/ long bed/ 181xxx miles/ auto tranny.

Like mentioned in the tittle. This happens mostly at least once or twice everyday at the same stop sign. I start the truck in the morning pull out of the neighborhood and come to a stop sign and if I do a rolling stop when I go to take off it feels like I'm giving it gas but it's in neutral not going anywhere, then all of a sudden it'll jerk like if it were to slam into gear. It will also do this from a complete stop, I'll stop let my foot off the brake and as soon as I let off the brake the car will jolt forward as if I gave it gas. Almost felt as if I got rear ended. It did it once when I was completely stopped and as soon as I let off the brake it jolted and it actually chirped my tires. Another issue is while I'm coming to a stop and once the vehicles momentum goes forward then goes backward I feel a little weight transfer going on in the bed of the truck and it feels like it got stuck in the front of the truck. Now when I take off I feel the same little weight transfer when I take off reach the back. Guys some of this might not make sense but ask me specific questions and I'll get back with you. Thanks in advance.

If it's only right after start up, trans may be slipping due to low trans fluid.

Op check to see if your A/C or Defroster is on when this happens. If so the A/C compressor cycles on/ off when it's enabled and will give a similar sensation when this occurs.

It feels like a slight tap or jolt, feels like if your foot is not firmly on the brake pedal the truck will move forward. If you discover it only does this when the A/C is on, then it is a normal Tacoma quirk.

I'll look into this. I'll also check the tranny fluid level.

I mostly do have the A/C on. And I do turn off the a/c before I come to any stop cause I noticed it won't do it as much.

mine does this as well when the a/c is on. it seems to be isolated to the compressor cycling on and off, putting a load on the driveline. sometimes it is a good thump/jolt. ive noticed if i use a firmer push on the brakes at stop lights its not as bad. ive noticed the rpms jump up form around 600 rpm to 950 when it cycles. where should a tacoma idle, a/c off, lights on? sometimes im around 575.
