    Hey guys,
I'm not very active on this board but do lurk from time to time. Sorry if this info is old news...just thought I'd contribute my 2 cents. I just dropped off my '07 DCSB with 80,000 miles this morning to my local dealer just north of Boston. Service manager says 2-3 days. Upon inspection, if it passes, then they apply the CRC. If it fails, 6-8 weeks for new frame installation. I asked how many are failing and he said about half the trucks that are inspected end up failing. He's got about 50 trucks out back waiting for new frames. I had no idea the 2nd gens were having this much rusty frame issues. I'll keep you posted with info.

My 07 has frame rust and I was hoping to get a new frame but it looks like I'm not eligible since my vin is not included in the campaign. I would consider most of it surface rust, however there is separation of the c- Chanel by the leaf springs which I don't think can be treated so I will probably get a professional opinion on what to do there. I will try to get some pictures. Tia you board members are excellent.

I got the dreaded phone call this morning. I've got rust issues with my '07 and a new frame is needed. I'll be driving their loaner '14 Camry for the next 4-6 weeks.

Mine took three days. But I didn't get new leafs and the new frame has a different geometry causing my 285s to rub on the cab mounts

Yea I think mine is different as well from the original 06 frame.. Sits strange now I put on billies 5100 and set the fronts at .85. And it looks like the front is up just a tad measurements are all different as well at each wheel well...I also got the new rear leaf pack as well, I think the old ones had more height in them...

Ill be going down to 265's soon for ride quality and fuel economy so it isnt a big deal, but kind of crappy for others.

I think the new 4 leaf pack actually sits higher, I told the dealership I was concerned about my leafs before they did the frame which is why I assume they didnt replace mine. I had a custom made AAL and I wanted them to know I didnt want it unlevel after.

This is most definitely a "limited" campaign. I live in MD and Toyota tells me my VIN does not qualify. Must be because dealers in MD are not authorized yet to do anything about it.

See my pics here, post #8.

same thing for PA, they must not be authorized yet. i'm gonna go in about the leaf packs and the frame at the same time when PA is authorized to make the repairs. i mainly want to go in for the leaf pakc because mine already cracked in half from rust and i had them replaced on my dime...

the notice I received lists all '20 cold climate states' this campaign affects and both MD and PA are included. Maybe they are systematically working their way through the states and just haven't began in your states yet?

Just got off the phone with the service department at Cain Toyota in Canton, OH- scheduled my inspection for this Friday at 3pm. I was told that if there are any holes over 10mm, they will order a replacement frame. Under 10mm and they just put the CRC on it. I have no clue how they came up with that number, but I feel as if a hole is a hole and structural integrity has to be on the outs if there is one present. Here are the pictures of mine- another victim by the driver's side cat...

    For those of you who have had their frames replaced, I have a couple questions;

    - how did the change out go mechanically?? Any problem ? Any return for more related fixes??

    - How about the body? Any body damage / scratches etc.??

I'm curious how good the dealers/techs are and how satisfied the customers are with the process/swap ...

Those are exactly the concerns I have and am stressed about. My '07 is in great shape and runs beautifully. I'm really hopeful she's still in great shape and runs/rides properly when I pick her up in 4-6 weeks. I'll keep you posted.

Nothing wrong with mine since getting the new frame, body was fine, I made sure to go over it with the tech and service guy, and let them know that there are no major scratches or other issues with it, I gotta take it back in next Monday, think a heat shield or something's loose and rattles when Im in drive with the brake on at stop lights... Nothing major... Just annoying...other than that it was a pretty good experience...

I figured I better (finally) join TW and post re: my experience with this service campaign.

My local Toyota shop called last week to advise me of the service campaign for the frame, and I have an appointment tomorrow to have my 2005 Tacoma Access Cab TRD O/R inspected.

Based on all of the reading I have done on TW and elsewhere, I think my frame is probably (hopefully?) a candidate for replacement. Like many others, I have a hole on the driver's side, inside face of the frame near the cat. The hole measures about 30 mm wide and 20 mm tall. The metal on the inside of the frame at that location crumbles to the touch.

    Tomorrow should be fun.
