It looks like he just didn't push the annex bar up as far as it should go

I've only used my CVT Shasta a few times. Although I'm getting better at dealing with the overhang and it's tube/frame system, it still takes me almost as long dealing with it (mainly during the take-down) as it takes me dealing with closing, strapping, and covering everything else...

Now, with that being said, I must say that I'm very happy with mine.

Or didn't stake it out with the guy lines. I have the same tent and if you don't stake it out, the annex cover is pretty suceptible to wind and weather.

Yeah, it's definitely just because the guy lines weren't tight. Hard to tell from the photos, but it looks like they might be staked, just not tight to keep the canopy tight. No biggie.

    Look into HAM..

CB is great, but when the nearest help is 100 miles away - not gonna do much good. Most of the truckers are running VHF in the Yukon as well.

Just a suggestion. I was very rudely surprised that both CB and Cell is largely useless on the Alcan. Got lucky and didn't have any snafus..

I lost the bulkhead connector with my 75. Wish I would have just used it from the get-go. Oh well.

    I love overland builds.

I put a Cobra 75 in my truck and am a little disappointed in the fact that no one else uses a CB unless they are on the trail. What Ham radio does everyone recommend?

My group uses them the second we are in the trucks haha but CBs have just to short a range to be used for anything else.

I have an icom 5100a as does my dad and he has a 51d handheld. Ham is fun. We can talk on the dstar network from across the country.

Something that doesn't take away from head room under the shell. I'm thinking more use of storage in the back seat and a "cabinet" along the side of the bed.

ahhh. my issue is sleeping in the bed its a pain in the a** if you have two people trying to sleep between the wheel wells. I wanted to raise up above that. I took the back seat out of my access cab and built a storage box there and have a lot of room now for activities haha. I want a place to store my air tank though and thought below the sleeping pad would be a great spot.
