Size of Tire + Lift

Hello everyone, I haven't been on here on a long time. I almost forgot how knowledgeable the guys from taco world are. Well, I got my taco a year ago. TRD SR5 off road and tow package all the goodies except the 4x4. It is a 4x2. Now Im ready for a lift and tires. I'm not sure about the new black rims. I travel a lot to Mexico and Im afraid i might get into trouble so the less flashy the better.

I'll be doing a 3" lift, whats the biggest size of tires I get for 3" I'm planning to get the BFG mud terrain km2 (I've heard good comments on those)

Any suggestions? How bout this size LT315/75R16/D?

 

i have been told the biggest for a 3 inch lift is 285/70/17
but i have that size on my truck without a lift so idk what the biggest you can go. but according to everybody its 285/70/17
