    No, you're not.

Almost everything I own for camping/hiking clothing is synthetic. Except for socks, those are wool. Say what you want but after a few incidents last year I will choose synthetic over anything else any day. I got soaked in a couple of rainstorms and if it wasn't for my synthetic, quick dry clothes I would have been in big trouble. Got completely soaked to the bone and the only dry things I had were my pajamas which I didn't want to dig out because I was afraid they'd get wet and I knew I needed to be dry come nighttime. Well there was a little break in the rain, I stoked the campfire and just stood by, rotating every couple of minutes. In less than 20 minutes I was completely dry again.

I don't know if you consider this truck camping but here it is: My recent camp in Florida, where I fished under the 'blood moon' for tailing redfish.

    Hey guys,

My first post with no pics. I know, I know, but I was wondering - does anyone know if the Tepui roof tents are compatible with an OEM roof rack for a 2014 DCSB?

I remember reading that the OEM roof racks are only good to hold either 100lbs or 120lbs, so no matter thats the weight of the tent alone without any blankets, people or gear.

For a RTT, go with a bed rack like you see other members on TW sporting. There are a few companies that make them. Way more load capacity that the factory roof rack..... and the aerodynamics will be much better with the RTT over the bed.

roof rack ratings are for loads that will be up there while driving the vehicle. Under the loads of turns, braking, acceleration, and emergency stops that 120 pounds is significantly larger than the load at rest. While stopped it should more than be able to hold the tent and 2 people.

You should check out the RTT owners thread (with bs). I will give you link but I'm not sure how to do it. There are guys on there that have RTT's on the roof and shells.

When i was rafting in the Grand Canyon wearing cotton was one of the best things we could do to keep cool. Start to get hot, jump in the water for a minute, problem solved. However it was around 100deg F during the day and 80s at night.

In cooler weather lows under ~65 deg F i totally agree with the general statement "cotton kills". Cotton can potentially be dangerous if it gets wet. I still usually wear cotton t shirts (unless it's raining/snowing) and have a synthetic backup :)

Yep..... thats why I wear a suit made of Bigfoot fur, which I have been collecting over the past 15 years. Warm, waterproof and the best camouflage known to man.

I'd want something that sits on top of the bed rails instead of just in the track. That design seems like it would fail with enough abuse.

I have been using the bed rails on my 2005 since new without any issues. If you search TW, you will see that the top side plastic bed rail "caps" will deform easily (watch it deform with your weight on one knee on those "caps"). I sell a motorcycle tie-down bar that bolts to the bed rails, and have been testing them for over a year without any problems... those bed rails are pretty secure.

Went to Chalk Bluff this past weekend in Uvalde. The weather was great and the water felt good. We kayaked the river where we could but there was quite a bit of portaging due to the water level being so low. I one point, we went 600 yards without any water. That was the lowest I had ever seen it. I caught four bass on artificials.
