Lubing Gen2 4x4 TRD Chassis

- Diagram of driveshaft grease fitting locations (how many, where are they)? There's a thread for gen1 here; are gen2s different?
- Can the driveshaft be adversely overgreased?
- Are there other grease fittings anywhere else than on the driveshaft that need to be tended to?

 

no zerk at the slip joint.

there is a zerk at one of the cap ends on each of the rear u joints, and one in the center of the front two.

Pump grease in slow to not blow the seals, and clean excess out.

 

Can't seem to hook my grease gun on the zerk at the back of the front shaft, behind the small armor plate. Do you have a trick or do you need an elbow nozzle on the grease gun?

While you're under there do you grease any of the supsension/steering?

 

Will This help reach ?? I don't use it often but when I do It's a god send. Put this on your gun (it has its own zerk on the right you can't see) then put the point into the ball on the target Zerk.


And I assume You rotated the Steering wheel/position/wheel/driveshaft as needed,,,,,

Go at the u-joint from pass. side,, use your finger to align the zerk at about the 1 o-clock pos. Using a flexable hose on gun you should be able get on the zerk. Its kind of a bitch to do,, but thats what works for me.

Get one of these, it takes the work out of that "Pesky" zert (Zerk) or however you spell it

Does anyone on here grease any of the chassis bushings? I have a squeak in my front suspension that I have been trying to chase down. It goes away when raining so I'm thinking something needs greased up front. Any of the bushings more common to needing grease?

I was thinking about using the same synthetic grease I use on my ATV. Any thoughts? It's the can am brand stuff

 

Alright, so I'm about to go under the truck to do this for the first time, 45k miles on my 2011. Do I need two different kinds of grease or is there an all-purpose one that will work?
