Been searching for a flip key since purchasing my taco and was pleasantly surprised when this guy got a "mistake" batch from a supplier.

I ended up buying a flip key from the seller and wrote a product review of my experience. (He didn't ask me to or knew I intended to write a review, sure he's nervous clicking the link ).

So: Neneago's All In One Remote Key Review

Yea, $50 for the all-in-one and then a little leg work to get it all programmed.

For that matter, I don't have anything against neneago except I don't know how to pronounce his username..

Should the day come and I get a key, I'm sure I'll make the trip south with a 6 pack in hand of his choice. Internet bickering is really only INTERNET BICKERING. Teenage drama doesn't usually transfer it real life.

    Been stalking this thread
Sounds to me like both OP and PeeRunner are handling the situation like grown men. No hard feelings present, just internet bickering like Pee said.

No apology seems necessary.: Both have my respect.

So the key for my 14 doesn't have a dot or a G. Does this mean its not chipped and if so does that mean if I buy one of these I just have to take it and get it cut and it will work?

Im shocked a 2014 model doesn't have a transponder chip. Is the key an original toyota key? Post some pics of both sides.

Must be a very basic model. All the ones I get in my shop have chip....Now that I think about it, I dont get the non chip because they can go to any hardware store and pay $3 bucks :p

SR5 Prerunner double cab with OEM alarm. I could see the base models being unchipped, but not sure how Toyota decided which trucks have chips.

Unless I'm blind and missing it.

Yep they are the original keys for the truck and it is a base model with the option for the remote and a few other very basic options and that was it. here is the key with no dot or G on it.

Cool. So all you need is to get key cut, program remote yourself and your set.

Here's a question for you. I've got a base model no transponder, but my key has a chip in I'm guessing as designated by a dot. Is it even possible to make a base model have the auto lock/unlock feature?

You do have a "dot" transponder. Don't get the term fob/remote confused with transponder.
Do procedure to add remote and see if u our locks cycle indicating you have Keyless entry.
