Really not digging the stock box setup.

ECM might need to be reset but it feels like it lost oomph on the bottom end of the RPM spectrum. Going to test it for a few more days but leaning towards throwing the aFe back in and adding a prefilter sock.

I googled "21-35008" + "prefilter" and the ebay link came up. Took the part number from there and searched on aFe's website. It doesn't even come up in the "related products" field when you pull up the cone filter itself so, yeah, not the greatest website.

How the hell are we supposed to spend our money if they don't give us obvious hints!?! :D

Well I did 2 sets of last years d2s then I switched to h1s and was disappointed so I got the newer d2 3.0s and I love them. Great quality and the pictures above are with only one projector on

Washed and waxed it, and re-dipped the hood and waxed it, hopefully it'll hold up long enough for me to not have to re-do it before I get it painted.

Also started installing new AUX reverse lights, didn't get far but it should get done tomorrow.

I used cans, I dipped it several months ago (or a year ago) on a whim and I like it a lot.
Eventually I'll get it painted matte black (following the same lines) but I've only used 2 cans so far.
I used 1.5 cans to do it the first time and I used about a half of a can to touch it up today.

Yeah, I bought the aFe before I knew what I was doing. Got a stock box through a friend and attempting to go back to the better filtration. Hopefully an ECM reset will get the low-end back. Or maybe I won't notice once I get the 2.2" pulley on. :D

The oil really isn't the issue. 'Tis the sand and dirt that I'm feeling in the oil. That stuff is hard on rings and cylinder walls.

That's why I was looking for the prefilters. I like the engine response of the aFe but after seeing inside the plenum, a little worried about longevity. I feel like an addict, wanting to go back to the aFe even though it may not be good for the engine.
