    back to bone stock.
i like it on my tacoma. pretty reliable. saved me from a underinflated spare.

on my Sierra, it sucks. it comes on at random. i kept a good gauge in my truck and checked..everything is perfect. i bet a battery or sensor is going bad.

if you have verified all of the tires to include the spare (since you have an 07), then you press the button under the steering wheel to reset it to the current values. if that doesnt fix it, then you may have a bad sensor/battery.

I prefer to be responsible for myself - check my own tire pressure.

Pretty soon we will have WBMS.

    Wiper Blade Monitor System.

Warn you when your wiper blades are wearing out.

    What's next?

Mine worked fine for my summer wheels, but my winters don't have sensors. Got sick of looking at the light (mainly that it would flash at me every time I drove the truck), so I disabled it. Simple 5-10 minute process. Pull out the HVAC controls, cut one wire, tap another onto it and you're good to go. There's a thread here:

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/284690-2012-tpms-light-disabled.html

MA doesn't care about it for inspection, but I'm not sure if you'd run into trouble in a state that does.

    2005 or 2008?

I believe that the standard is that the light will illuminate when there's a 25% difference between set pressure and current pressure.

Then I need to have tires dismounted from wheels to pull the sensors or buy new ones and program them.

The wire trick costs nothing. Easy enough to reverse too if I ever sell the truck. ;)

I guess that would bring an end to DWI arrests.

Would be cool if there were a TPMS sensor reader. Like a pressure gauge you could just hold up to the valvestem and it would tell you the pressure in the tire. Then when filling a tire you could watch the pressure rise while you are filling it and stop at the exact pressure you want instead of trying to guess when to stop.

No sir you do not. The miltary ones always leaked. Nothing like waiting for a crappy air pump to fill six 52" military tires. Takes a month of Sundays.

At our shop we had a barter scanner that gave individual pressures of the tires, but it wasn't real time.
