I'm satisfied with it for the price. There may not be many of these coming down the pike according to a post by FLTrucks about a month ago. Just making sure it's known they aren't all perfect.

Thanks FLTtucks! I received my HU on Thursday in perfect condition!
I will be installing it this weekend on my 2005 once I receive my antenna adapter, wire harness, and bluetooth microphone. Hopefully everything works fine.

I PMed the OP 10/7, got the PayPal invoice 10/20, and received the HU 10/30. If you sent the OP a PM, he will eventually reply.

Look, I'm sorry if this is has been asked but I spent 20 minutes looking for it and didn't find the answer.... I have a 2012 with a non-JBL non-touch screen, just a basic radio with Bluetooth and steering wheel controls. Does this plug and play with my current stereo?? I'm terrible with electronics and it scares to think about splicing wires/cutting wires/running new wires. Any info would be awesome, Thanks TW!!

Your post looks almost identical to mine about a month ago. I had the same concerns. It is "plug and play" however it is not as direct as 2014-2015. I had the same HU as yourself in my 2012. I will post links to my threads when I have time to hunt them down.

    You will need............

    20-28 pin adapter (It's a Toyota part)

    Antennae adapter (Metra works great)

If you wish to retain you XM radio you will also need......

XM Expansion box ($85 through FLTrucks) and the appropriate cables which should be included.

If your truck is equipped with a USB plug you will need a few things to retain it's function.

    USB retention harness (Axxess Toyusb2)

3 ft. male-female USB cable (Amazon is good)

USB interface cable (Toyota part through Ebay)

I don't know the part numbers off the top of my head. I do know they are TacomaWorld because that's where I attained them. Stevo has a very thorough thread detailing installation into a 2011. It is useful for 2012's as well. My suggestion would be to source all the cables you may need before you pull out the old HU. If you don't it's not a big deal since it really is that easy to swap. The new 2014/15 unit is essentially "plug and play" since no wires will be spliced. It really is simple and worth the time and money.

I was hesitant to upgrade to this unit because of the same reasons you mention. On the other hand I want my truck to stay with the times since I plan on keeping it FOREVER. I highly recommend this upgrade! The new unit is a HUGE step up from the 2012 radio! The seller FLTrucks is excellent to deal with as long as you have a little patience. My radio came to me quickly and in perfect condition. In fact it was manufactured the same month I purchased and installed it (Oct. 2014)!

Thank you for the HU and XM mode FLTrucks! It was easy to install and setup. The one thing I have a question if anyone can answer is, on my '13 taco I already had headsfree and I have a mic above in the light console. I don't have the voice button on my controls. Which means I have to get new controls for the streering wheel, but do I need need another mic or can I use the same one?
