fair point. I have the standard allpros, which I like, but yea no personal experience with the expeditions.

From what I have read the design seems to be pretty much the same between the 2 isn't it?

I did some looking into the Deavers the guy was selling - turns out he already has the camper and is adding a Pelfrey swing-out bumper along with a shackle flip, so he's going to the expos... in other words, he's got the same setup as me, just with better leafs going in (and ICONs with air bumps and fancy pants stuff I don't have). Still a great set of leafs, but not for me :(

I have the Chevy springs in my garage. I abandoned the idea because I don't know enough about what I'm doing, but if I can book some time with one of you guys that have done it, it would be good to re-examine. Pepsi/12thman, did you want to put on a clinic?:D

lol I wouldn't mind helping for sure. It is really easy though.

    Basic steps:
Disassemble chevy springs and clean them up.
Disassemble Tacoma springs and replace with selected chevy springs.
    reassemble hybrid springs.

I used 3 springs and the overload from the chevy 1/2 ton and the mounting spring from the Tacoma. That's it.

I will probably remove the overload once I get some air bags in there.

    Edit:
This is what I started with. So, really, I just replace the mounting spring on the chevy spring with the one from my Tacoma and threw it back in. Mine sits a bit high on purpose to accommodate the weight from the canopy, RTT, Rotopax and extra load.

This is the only picture I have of the truck without the canopy on:

Yeah, for some reason I feel intimidated that I'm going to be missing some of the fiddly steps (mostly like not having all the parts or something along that line) and end up with stuff in pieces.

^ that is understandable since that did happened to me lol

I bought the wrong size spring pin and my driver side mounting spring was broken. Luckily I had my wife's car to get the right pin and Zach had a set of leafs he gave me.

Looks pretty good from google earth. I wonder how many intersecting roads are gated.

Yeah that is my fear but last time I was up there, there weren't many gates at all that I can remember. The other road I went back on was 23 and that didn't have any gates. Did a lot of firewood cutting up there

PS. Nice new sig pic :D

I assume boom sticks are permitted as well?

In Darrington? Yes but watch out for the forest service ranger, he will pull you over for literally anything. Pulled me over because he wanted to make sure I wasn't stealing logs in the back of my truck since he couldn't see in as he drove past me.

Do the Rangers need probable cause like cops to search your truck? All of my boom sticks are legal and I transport them legally but I don't want to give into searches unless I legally have to.

    So is that effective immediately?

No idea. Hope it gets fought and mostly over turned. The amount of BS in that makes it hard for me to even want to let someone know I have a gun.

Wow so simple and concise. Faith in my state government has been restored.

Shitty, isn't it? Seattle times has been backing it since the beginning. Never used the term gun control measure until it passed. Liars. Good blindfold they put over people's eyes.
